I started asking this question too late into the game but its a safe assumption majority, if not all, people who were banned did not restore a clean NAND prior to getting banned.

In other news, I yoinked the optional question about whether pin 10 is shorted or not because I think people were misinterpreting the question. What I was trying to ask was whether people had pin 10 shorted when entering Horizon (not RCM) because its possible that Horizon or the Joy-Cons are detecting this. This could have been through either soldering pin 10 or leaving the jig/paperclip in the console after booting into Horizon. I've now replaced it with a much easier and fun question.

Ive heard anywhere that a superban locked local Wireless Multiplayer as well. Do you confirm that?

Can you not just reset the password? Its not impossible to retrieve your password if you lost it. Its not tied to the Switch whatsoever.

While theoretically possible, Nintendo does not implement this in any of their current bans as they're designed to restrict online access not local access. More specifically, access to their online servers.

That's actually a CDN ban (aka superban) so you've now lost online play, eShop, and updates. I would also kindly ask you to submit a ban report by using the form in the OP or one of the Google Form links if you have a Gmail Account. Please and thank you.

I have a quick question. After I saw the news about the superban, I am a bit concern about my switch. So far I did not received the ban yet. I have been using homebrew and using emulator playing some GBA game. I also back up save file for my game and mod the file. I start use homebrew around May, but i don't really use homebrew that much. What worry me the most is that during the time I have connect to the internet all the time. I even use eshop to download game when using homebrew. I have clean nand backup. Should I restore them now?

May i know if i use ofw online play paladin + sx os pro only play xci games(offline mode+ no nsp).
The chance of being ban is very low right?

Yes. There have also been people banned by only CFW / homebrew and not LayeredFS nor SX.

only ONE user and no proof provided afaik. We have to take that info with a grain of salt


Also, @Draxzelex, I'd like to suggest you to do some clean up on the spreadsheet and the questions on it. Most people are not even informing if they were banned or not. Also, I'd only take in consideration users who provided video proof of some kind. There's certainly some guys here trying to jumble the thread just because they don't like piracy (or work for Nintendo).

Let's never forget that if Ninty didn't check this forum, they wouldn't be this fast in banning people.

They're doing it. They don't even lock you out only from the online and the eShop, they lock you from their downloads server. There's no way to to redownload your legit games.

They did it with Sun/Moon pirates on 3DS and they're repeating now on Switch.

If you already connected online with a hacked console, you would put yourself in a worse situation than if you did not so do not restore it.

I have tried numerous times to thin down the spreadsheet but the community voted in favor of asking all of the questions I have wanted to remove, even going so far as to reinstate the one question I remove. Most, if not all of these questions, affect bans either in the past, present, or future so I can see why some of the questions should stay. In terms of informing us, there are other ways of doing so besides copying and pasting the spreadsheet, notably of which are the Google forms that streamline the entire questionnaire. Lastly, most of the results have been pretty consistent in that all but one ban was related to piracy so there is no need to consider only those who provided proof.

Outside of unlinking a Nintendo Account and buying a new console? Piracy. You can thank Nintendo for that.

By right, risk to banned is low. I also bought new switch and using SX pro installed Sx Os 1.6. I keep in stealth mode. I changed to OFW to update the games and return to SX OS to play. So far so good.

You have to be unconscious, you say you put the stealth mode, yes but in custom firmware, as soon as you are switched to official firmware you are no longer protected, nintendo has seen or sees your logs, if there has been use of become? Cdn with console certificate? The update of your games, I hope you're talking about original cartridge, otherwise it smells like a tree, and nintendo keeps an eye on you...

If you need to update your games always passed through the pc....(played offline games updated it's ok)
If not,in official firmware,without a clean nand,then the restoration of the complete nand,if you have auto rcm, you are bad,and will have to restore,nand 29go,plus boot0,boot1,then pray that it goes well ( the restoration of nand) then finally pray that when you pass in official firmware nintendo,well...that nothing abnormal is within the nintendo,otherwise.ban and superban...
And if you have not saved a clean nand, before any trace of hack, there is nothing more to do...
