Use ChoiDujourNX to get the exFAT update as it is the easiest way to get it offline.
Let's construct a simple scenario. Say the NAND is represented with this blue box and connecting online means showing this blue box to Nintendo. If I enable Airplane Mode or put a sheet over the box, Nintendo won't know what I'm doing with the box until I take off the sheet. So say I paint it red but keep the sheet on at all times. Then before I take off the sheet, I return it to its original blue color and thus Nintendo sees no modifications to it. However if you paint it red without the sheet covering it, Nintendo will see that you modified it meaning you cannot return it to its original blue color.

So, this basically means that if you reported an error to nintendo and then went back to a clean nand, they will know for sure that you did something wrong. Right?

At this point I just feel sad that I only used it for emulation and some homebrew. I bet there's a lot of people on the same situation, who thought that using HB launcher was innofensive, and going back to Horizon to play original games would be fine.

*sigh*

Hi all!
Is there a simple write up for setting up my Switch with ReiNX or RajNX, for a total dumbass? I'm not very clear on Fusee, and Hakate, nsp, patches, etc. I need to short out some pins on... something?

Thanks in advance,
Gassy

Exactly, it would be safer to stick with whatever you have rather than try to change it thinking you'll fool Nintendo

I was thinking. What if I get a new Switch but keep using the same two nintendo accounts on the new console? Would it be risky?
I got some games bought on one of my accounts and I don't want to lose them.
I would never use a Nintendo Account from a hacked console on an unhacked console but reasonably, Nintendo shouldn't ban a device just because the Account associated with it was used on a hacked console. Remember that a ban stems from the device violating the ToS, not the Account, because you can get banned without having a linked Nintendo Account.

Update:
Thanks to Draxzelex and XaneTenshi I used the safe upgrade method with ChoiDujourNX, at first I made a "test run" by updating to 4.1.0 and after everything looked good, I finally upgraded to 5.1.0.

No burnt fuses, no problems at all!

And of course my gratitude also goes to CTCaer, rajkosto and all the people who make such wonderful programs!

Well, they also shouldn't ban people for messing with the hardware without connecting to their servers but they do, right? :D

I just bought a switch along with a jig on ebay, I verified its serial number and its good to go for hacking.
I heard SXOS was hacked for everyone to use and haven't been able to find much information on that since I saw that in a thread months ago, is that still the best firmware to be on? Im seeing posts about ReinX which seems popular as well.
Im pretty bad at hacking things and pretty much need a guide to hold my hand through the hold process, whats the easiest to digest guide/tutorial?

Not sure who you're referring to. If you're referring to people who abused CDN downloading by using their own console's certificate, that still involves connecting to their servers. Outside of that, its impossible to get banned if you never connect to their servers.

SX OS has not been fully cracked, there is a partial crack of the title installer found in their CFW that can use but the public one (Tinfoil) is much better objectively. In terms the easiest guide, I recommend this one: https://gbatemp.net/threads/outdated-reinx-installation-and-use.512342/ Ignore the outdated tag as it is not truly outdated. It is there because the person who made the tutorial no longer is associated with ReiNX however the guide is still relevant until a replacement is made.

Hi guys, first post here, I've read different topics but as I'm a total newb to the Switch hack, I prefer to ask here ;) I don't have a Switch yet but I'm planning to buy one. I read that you have to be careful what serial number.

What I wanted to know is, being the newbie I am, I consider buying an SX which seems the "easiest" way to hack the Switch. Am I correct?
When I get the SX, do I need something more?
Last question I have in mind: will there be another easy way to crack the Swith in the near future? I read something about Atmosphere but I'm not very sure I undersstand everything :P

Anyway, thanks for your time if you can answer me ;)

SX Pro is the easiest way to hack the Nintendo Switch however there are free ways of accomplishing the same level of hacks. Atmosphere currently uses the same exploit as SX Pro however Atmosphere has plans on supporting other exploits that don't use the one used in SX Pro in the future. Whether or not those will be easier than the current exploit is a subjective debate that we cannot currently discuss as said exploits are private.

It depends on what you consider "connecting to nintendo servers". I mean, Nintendo supposedly banned one guy for using cfw but not a single CDN download and/or SXOS. (I forgot his user name, but it's on the spreadsheet), which means he never downloaded anything but was connected to wi-fi, and got some error using homebrew (which happens to be my case too).

You mean the homebrew only ban? I mean bans are dished out for violating the Terms of Service AND connecting to their online servers. The way Nintendo determines the first is by implementing checks in the console for such things and once certain things are flagged then transmitted to Nintendo, a ban is the most logical conclusion. You can delay this process by either staying offline or using a DNS server to block the appropriate URLs, but the point here is everyone who was banned had to connect to Nintendo's servers with a hacked console. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Ok. But will Atmosphere need a dongle too, or is it another method?
The dongle makes the entire exploit more convenient. By the way, you will need more than just the dongle to load SX OS. The dongle is merely to replace a device to send payloads with such as a PC, Mac, Android, jailbroken iOS device, etc. You will first need to boot into RCM. This is accomplished by shorting pin 10 on the right Joy-Con rail of the Switch. SX Pro comes with a jig that is designed to do this but there are plenty of jigs you can buy from other sources such as ebay to do the same thing. Or if you want to do some DIY, you can use a paperclip or anything that conducts electricity to short pin 10 for you.

Yeah I saw the jig on their video. If I understand correctly, the dongle works basically like a R4 for DS (I had one back in the days), the SDcard has the cfw, games and everything.
Honestly, I don't mind paying for it, I haven't really used a modified console since my glitched 360, it's just I don't want to buy something irrelevant in a couple of months or something :P

I could make another recommendation in the SX Gear as it lets you customize the payload in the dongle allowing you to load the CFW of your choosing. Although SX Pro has this option when you boot into the SX OS menu; you can chainload another payload meaning it lets you boot other CFWs if you put their respective payload and files on the SD card.

I just started with Nintendo switch hacking and was happy that my switch is not patched and immediately hacked my Switch. Just want to ask. can I still make a clean back up of my Nand? and what do I do to avoid getting banned? I am currently on airplane mode but Can I go activate the wifi but still not get banned?
