Team-Xecuter Announces SX OS v1.6 with 'Stealth Mode' and More

Team-Xecuter is back again updating their SX OS
SX16.jpg

Their update v1.6 introduces something new and cool called 'Stealth Mode' which you can read all about, below in their official TX announcement:
Today, we are releasing version 1.6 of SX OS. This update addresses two important things pertaining compatibility and safety. (Two key elements on our priority list)

Lets have a look at what's new!
  • Add support for 32GB XCI files (Dragon Quest Heroes 1 and 2)
It came to our attention that 32GB XCI files were not working with SX OS. Since game compatibility is high up there on the priority list of Team Xecuter, we investigated this issue and are happy to report this has been resolved. You can now enjoy these content-packed bigger games like Dragon Quest Heroes!
  • Introducing Stealth Mode
Stealth Mode is our solution to prevent console bans. In SX OS v1.6 and onwards this feature will be enabled by default.
    • You can still disable Stealth Mode from the TX menu if you really wish to do so, however we do not recommend this (unless your Switch is already banned).
    • With Stealth Mode enabled your Switch system is not able to send any Switch personal information to Nintendo's servers while still allowing basic Internet functionality (for eg homebrew). Things like local WiFi play is also still possible!
    • Keep in mind Stealth Mode is only active when you are running SX OS! If you occasionally boot back into original Switch firmware you may expose yourself to a ban risk if you have modified your Switch system by installing NSP titles for example, so we do not recommend this!
    • Playing XCI titles in SX OS with Stealth Mode enabled should NOT get you banned when booting/using your original Switch firmware online. This is why we personally prefer our Game Cartridge emulation solution, and so should you! ;-)
We are working on a solution to allow a clean separation between the SX OS system and your original Switch firmware. Stay tuned!
Enough chit-chat, enjoy this fine release. And keep an eye out for what's yet to come!

So with stealth mode enabled, there is no need to set the primary and secondary DNS anymore. I was previously using DNS server 104.236.106.125 to allow me to connect to my network but not the internet so I can use FTPd. If I understand this correctly, I can now remove the custom DNS settings, and just let SX OS handle things. -- So, always-on Internet means I don't have to connect to my network before using FTPd (cuz sleep mode turn wifi off). Convenient. Just hope it really is safe.

Show me where it was stolen. Nothing worse than a lousy assumption. Make claims, provide proof.
Already been proven multiple times and can easily be seen by decompressing their binary and comparing the output files in a decompiler to other open-source projects. Try to open your eyes, this has been discussed and proven for many months.

If it's been proven, I'd like to see that proof. Because stealth mode seems a bit more advanced. If I'm mistaken, by all means, show me.

Jeeez guys, the amount of negativity here.
So you are banned, it's not their fault, if you are banned you can only blame yourself.

while I agree its not TX's fault people get banned Its squarely Nintendo's fault.

Nintendo choose to ban people, they could easily let pirates play with non pirates.
these people are thier paying customers in my opinion its user hostle and not in their best interest.

piracy sells hardware(obviously at the expsense of software)

Nintendo unlike the other console manufacturers have been profitable with hardware since the gamecube so they make money off every pirate.
soon the online service will be pay to play so now they would be getting a annuity from pirates.
then theirs the network effect (you buy what your friends buy) that pirates would also contribute too.

to nintendo the only downside is hypothetical lack of 1st party software sales (yet as you see by the numbers that doesnt pan out because one pirate copy does not mean a guaranteed lost sale)
the reason we know this is false is games considered major successes can simultaneously be the most pirated.
look at examples on the PC like GTAV or witcher 3 etc.
that argument is only really valid with small indie titles but even then still not imperically provable.

people also posit the hypothetical scenario that it will scare away developers once again this is bogus.

Just like how big businesses have loss prevention factored into the budget, companies prepare for piracy.
Also while it maybe a chicken or the egg argument the historical fact is the most popular consoles are also the most pirated.
So once again I think it's really only valid with small indie devs but even then still not imperically provable.

Finally banning is just encouraging those people that do get banned but care about online to either sell off their banned consoles to unsuspecting victims.
or commit retail fraud and return the "broken" console for a clean one to rinse and repeat spiral of bannings

TLDR:
Shame on Nintendo for banning people.

Doesn't looks that easy to me, people who use sx os, they use it because it's easier to use.
I'll agree that the method of obtaining said information yourself is a little more involved, but copying and pasting files from a pre-compiled pack is considered a difficult challenge? Yikes...

They (maybe?)finally implemented a major function by their own.... and that's after 6 updates...

As always, I'll wait for hexkyz reverse engineering, but it sounds cool/interesting.

Not everyone wants to deal with compilers and extract files and stuff.
I'm talking about installing a free "CFW" solution, which is as simple as copying files from a zip file to your SD card and it just werking. If you can't figure that out, it was probably a good call wasting $25.

What about XCI Loader
The way it was done was already known/already done. The only thing that was missing was sigpatches.
And the way xci loading is done is actually simple. No one implemented it tho (most developers are against piracy)
And then NSPs came out...

The good quality jig and dongle is not free, for me sx os is just a plus, and please don't start talking about using phones and cable and dragon injector.
I still prefer to use the jig every time to boot my switch instead of installing AutoRCM.

Tell me again how much money you wasted on jigs from eBay?
Thanks.

I got a good quality jig on ebay for $1, and an internal modchip installation costs less and works better than a dongle you have to lug around everywhere.

I wouldn't call it a waste. I enjoy using SX OS and I am fully competent to be able to use alternate free CFW. It's just a preference. Jeez.. so much negativity around here.

You can use whatever you want, I really don't care. However, a person just getting into Switch homebrew should be aware that there's no reason to spend cash on a closed-source piece of software that does next to nothing to justify its pricetag.

So now what are are doing now? Are you sx user?
Why bitching about it if you don't use it?
And no, it's really rare to find a jig for $1 2 month ago, all printed jigs are bad.
Also we returned to my previous comment, sx is easier, no one with no good skills are willing to solder anything inside the switch.

I used SX OS when there was a reason to. At one point, they actually had features that nothing else had, I can't say the same thing now. I got a good quality jig for that price, believe it or not. There really isn't any argument anymore, it's just preference. Use what you want, whatever.

TX is a brand that is well known and they have a successful history. That in itself is worth the $25 justification for a product by them for those that choose they want a plug and play solution. Some people, (even capable people) don't want to manually hunt files daily or weekly and keep up on reading posts regarding said files in order to use CFW. TX eliminates this with less frequent updates that are tested and working. To each their own though.
