what is the real differences with a rom that been decrypted? is there a quality loss or some files removed after a rom or cia gets decrypted? kinda curious since i notice a huge size difference once its decrypted..

There can't be any "quality loss" with ROMs, since they don't get compressed or similar when decrypting/encrypting them, if you're referring to images/audios/etc

no, well, what i'm actually wondering, is: what files are altered/removed when a game gets decrypted? exemple: some games are 4GB and once they are decrypted they become 1.6GB , so i was wondering if there is a quality loss in the loading speed or stability etc? what exactly happens during the decryption?

The reduced size is likely due to trimming, that means for example that the original cart used a 4GB ROM chip, but the game itself only occupies 1,3GB, and when decrypting it gets trimmed, which means the extra, empty space gets removed from the file. Any type of NDS/3DS ROM can be trimmed with NDSTokyoTrim

3ds ROMs can be played on console only with (overpriced) flashcarts, not just CFW

but i mean, not in rom format..if for exemple, the decrypted game is converted into a cia (if its possible..we can convert decrypted games into a cia?..) and then installed on cfw.

nice!
..do you know if using dycrypted games (converted into CIAs) would be less safe for playing online? since it gets trimmed, maybe it flags something different to BigN..

in order to convert a rom to cia you need to decrypt it
Really? I remember being able to convert my Pokemon X cart dump with Simple 3DS to CIA converter. It didn't need the XORpads either since that tool can avoid them if you provide a boot9 dump

CIAs are already trimmed by themselves, since they're not on cartridge but they get installed on SD they occupy only the space they need :)

can we convert a decrypted game into a cia, directly in the console's cfw with godmod? (the same way as converting normal .3ds to .cia, in godmod)

Xorpads are just one way of decrypting a title (which uses the console as a black box; having the bootrom - just because the common key for titles is found there - just allows the job to be done on a likely faster PC since you can now write an equivalent program to the one running on the console, non-readable keys included)

To convert a physical game or a NAND title (media type 0 or 1) to something that installs and runs from SD (media type 2 or 3) the exheader must be edited, so decrypting is a must

Yeah, GM9 supports them equally

Ah well, I guess that tool decrypts games automatically then :P
