Weekend Discussion: What "dream game" would you want to see get announced?

review_banffner_base_new.png

The gaming industry outputs hundreds upon thousands of games each year, with all sorts of different varieties of genres and concepts to choose from. Selections such as AAA major title entries, niche lesser-known games, independent games, and everything in between. With so many options, there's bound to be something that every person can wholeheartedly enjoy. This brings about the question of what game you love the most, and what remake, sequel, revival, or revolutionary creation you'd want to see in the future. In the past few years, we've seen quite the number of hard to believe reveals, ranging from the remake of the beloved Final Fantasy VII, a spiritual successor to Castlevania: SOTN, a sequel to Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption, a long-awaited revival of the Shenmue series, a tease for Elder Scrolls VI, a new title from The Witcher devs: Cyberpunk 2077, Kingdom Hearts III, the announcement of Metroid Prime 4, a new Smash Bros., and so many more.

Does this future lineup sate your desires, or is there something you long to see get announced at one of the many gaming trade shows, like E3, Gamescom, or Tokyo Game Show? Perhaps an ancient JRPG series that you want to finally get a western release? Or maybe something that could no longer be created, due to the developers having shut down, but still a game you'd still want to see happen one day, despite the odds? A franchise buried by years past, ignored by its IP owner? Even worse, a series that was once great, yet fell from grace, that you want to see returned to its former glory?

Even with so many games releasing per year, that doesn't mean the well of ideas is dry, either. There could be an idea for a game that you've had for ages, but has never come close to being a real game. What are your thoughts? Is there a specific idea or game that would make your dreams come true, if it were to be announced? Let us know in the comments below!

I want a Kirby Air Ride 2, preferably on the switch. I fucking miss and love City Trial. It was the basis for Smash 4's Smash Run which was also fucking great.

Thought about this a few days ago, but I miss the old Wave Race games, and I miss F-Zero. What if there was a racing game that was built around racing through all kinds of terrain? Like you could race on a regular ground track on a kart/car/bike or whatever. Then another series of races would put you in a sort of boat, jet ski, hovercraft, and other water vehicles. Like races focusing on the water's surface, ala Diddy Kong Racing or Wave Race. Underwater submarine racing? Fuck it, why not! Airborne racing, or even racing though space. I'd like to see all of these different ways to race slapped with a difficulty or skill meter. Like say space racing would be high in difficulty and skill, whereas boat racing wouldn't be as difficult but requires skill. Just a little something for all gamers.

1) Advanced Wars Mobile- Turn based battle against peers via your phone. It may take days to complete a battle, but I think it may be possible. If not, make it for the switch.
2) Golden Sun 4- Come on... we need it.
3) A co-op NES style or DS style Castlevania game. It would be so cool.
4) Pokemon Maker- It's like Mario Maker, but for a Pokemon game. You create levels or small areas with a quest or goal. For example, you can create a situation where you battle the elite 4 in double battles (with whichever characters you want) and you get to choose a partner to battle with you while you have to use a predetermined team. Maybe you can create a mission where you have to get to beat Team Rocket. IDK... the options are unlimited.

I would love to see Mario Galaxy 1+2 and Skyward sword have the waggle controls ripped out of them and get a release on the switch. Come on Nintendo my Money is right here.

Skies of Arcadia 2

Ever since I first played the GameCube version, I've been obsessed with having a sequel.

It'll.likely never ever happen, but if it did, I would literally be crying with joy.
