It's super easy, because for some reason, this device is the only one that uses a separate pcb for eMMC, that connects with a "lego" connector..

Now I am getting excited. Using that lego connector would make you think N intended to launch models with larger internal storage (fingers crossed).

Curious, have you scoped the chip series to see what the largest size compatible chip could be used? Is there anything unique about the pcb that we would need to lift the chip or find an un-populated Nintendo pcb or do you think a knockoff pcb could be cooked up with a compatible larger Nand?

Do you already have an idea on what it will take to modify the injection payload to make it work, from what you said earlier about Nand using fat file system, isn't it just going to be injecting a hex edit to the proper location to change the partition table, or am I oversimplifying it?

No need to modify anything. It works as is. After restoring, you'll need to increase USER partition to use the whole new space.

Well the best would be to use a toshiba or samsung 128GB from the same series because it has the same size. Otherwise you can rework the pcb.

Storage size also does not matter.

hekate v4.0 is now released!

  • Supports booting ALL current CFW bootloaders, Linux chainloading, payload tools.
  • Added modules/plug-ins support.
  • And many many many more.

Check changelog for more..

EDIT:
Just a heads up, the guide will be updated in time.
Don't forget, everything resides in bootloader folder now. Except what is defined by sdpath and backups (which now use eMMC serial as folder name).

"If sd card is missing asks to continue. No more accidental stock HOS launching."

this is very useful, as I accidentally updated my card slot firmware due to this. has there been any progress on reverting the card slot firmware, or can you share any details on how difficult the process will be?

If your that desperate by a card slot from a older system version, ask the seller or oem parts store..

@CTCaer
Will there be a default ini added ? or we have to use our old ini from 3.2 ?
As in the ini folder or zip folder is no default ini, some users may like a default for less editing..
Or the new comers

But im not complaining just asking.

SX OS boots to a black screen
More configs... menu option gets you stuck at yet another black screen

Other than that everything seems to be working!

Nope. Because the template one and what you currently have in sd card, still works. Also sdfiles were already updated (which normally is the way to go for newcomers. At least now looks cleaner.).

These issues were reported in github and dully noted.

Hekate displays the "nintendo" logo now ?
With Xor play, where must I listen the moon theme ?

May I ask how the new chainloader can launch a Linux payload? AFAIK to launch Linux, cbfs.bin gets launched as a payload which then relocates itself and waits for coreboot.rom being sent over USB. Is this possible right now with Hekate alone or does a computer still have to send the coreboot separately?
