Probably b/c the specs don't meet the requirement of realistic racers. Running forza in 25-30fps wouldn't appeal to alot of players

How was Polyphony Digital able to pull off Gran Turismo Portable on the PSP?

Sure, the graphics will not be photo realistic on the Switch, but realistic racing games on par with GT Portable are absolutely possible! My guess is in the eyes of publishers the target audience of the Switch isn't interested in realistic racing games.

Forza actually runs at 30FPS on the Xbox as well, I think the main problem would be the audience on the Switch wanting this style of game and the space of the system. Forza requires over 60GB's on the Xbox and that's without any DLC so a game like that would have to be heavily compressed and require quite a bit of internal storage/SD.

Gear Club Unlimited is a good Car based racer, Monster Super Cross is a good Bike Racer... MXGP 2018 is also a good Bike racer. Nintendo Systems usually have horrible simulation style racing games... But Wii/U had great arcade-y racers. Nintendo however is the home of Crusin' series... Which imo is some of the best linear arcade-y racing games ever

Well if you look at the history of the said "realistic theme racers" in Nintendo they get overshadowed by Mario kart in almost every way. Then they have licensing of cars to deal with why would Nintendo pay that much if the game isn't going to have a bigger audience compared to their fictional racers? I'm sure EA wouldn't mind porting, but I don't see Nintendo paying for something that wont impact on broader player base

Exactly, it just doesn't have the audience on the Switch compared to something like Mario Kart. Same thing would probably be the case for a Mario Kart style game on the Xbox like Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing which sold more on the Wii back then compared to the other platforms.

I loved NFS MW for the Vita. Spent hundreds of hours playing that game. Would love to see another portable NFS.

Also the Switch lacks analog trigger buttons.
That was a truly awesome game! I wish something like that could be released for the switch. Pity they didn't port Burnout Paradise, that was possibly our best chance unfortunately.

Umm, Asphalt 9 was released on mobile devices and they look beautiful. The Switch definitely has the specs, just not the audience I'd assume.
Low quality realistic games can contribute less audience as well. It can have the specs to run it, but the appeal wont be there for most. But I'm in the mindset where realistic games isn't Nintendo's forte or should I say selling point

I'd rather play Mario Kart or Diddy Kong Racing. Realistic racing games are just boring product placements. Maybe hope for EA to port that Most Wanted remake to Switch.

PS4 is very powerful than Nintendo Switch. So that's the problem. Nintendo do not know how to complete against PS4 and XBOX one at all. Every time I bought Nintendo systems and they are not that powerful than Sony/Microsoft at all.

However... One thing i love about Nintendo Switch is to bring it anywhere. And I have a PS4 and a PS3 at home so I dont need to worry about Nintendo Switch.

Well, I get Nintendo Switch for just three things --- Zelda, Mario, and homebrew games. Zelda and Mario are my huge fan so thats why I am stuck with Nintendo for the rest of my life, lol!

Gear Club Unlimited is an arcade racing game with really short racing stages. Not to mention, it was originally a smartphone game.

It looks great yeah, but the gameplay is appalling (too scripted). Uninstalled it 5mins later after playing it on my Samsung tablet.

More like, you think Nintendo doesn't. Ninty isn't in the market to rival Sony or Microsoft, hell, Microsoft is even sort of friends with Nintendo so there goes the whole 'console war' nonsense.

Literally any of these games > being realistic
lol

unless by realistic you mean "real brands/cars" then mario kart 8 has 3 mercedes in it and gear club is a thing. RR3 might as well be no items mario kart. But the cpu in the switch is way to slow to run any good realistic racing games. Assetto corsa is the only 'realistic' game on any console (PC2 is debatable) and even the PS4/X1 suffer from not being fast enough.

idk... I still think Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec was and still ways still is top of its class in Racing Games in general. Nothing of course beats Forza 7 on a newer high end PC, but PC is ripe for Racing games... thats actually what made me switch to PC for primary gaming
