Hello,

I know this will be a very stupid question, but i can only find tutorials from months ago that i don't know if i should i trust. How can i do a NAND backup from my clean switch which i can restore later?

Thanks!

You can launch hekate (the ctcaer fork) through rcm. There is a backup option in there that is reliable.
Ok, thanks!

Boot0/Boot1, and eMMC RAW GPP. There's also the BIS keys for use with hacdiskmount that are console specific I believe.

Ok, thanks for the info. Last question... I have a 32GB card with 28.9 usable storage. I need to format it on exfat, and it will generate 14 x 2GB files, and then, a last one, right?

I think so..(I used a 64gb card)
Use the joiner program on the gethub page to "join" them.

Related nooby question. If i nandbackup, hack the switch with SX OS, don't go online, play games, then restore nand, will i be safe from bans or are there logs still stored?

No one has been banned with this, im 99,99 sure not. It is what i have planned.

PS: No eshop, no updates, online connections removed. If not, you're 100% banned.

for the record, you can just format the microSD as exfat and back the whole thing up in one file. this works regardless of your firmware version because hekate itself has exfat support.

It has dumped 28GB and i'm now copying them to my PC and after that, i must dump the remaining 2GB... 4 hours... I've started to understand why most people don't do a backup...

a safety net can be a calming presence even if you don't need to use it.

I'm doing it because if i want to go online again, i just restore it (it will be a PITA) and don't worry about bans. But whatever, i don't see myself paying for online play.
If i update, this backup will be useless, right? (I'm now on 5.1.0, but in future updates)
