Hardware What do you think a t214 is

If a Tegra is a t210 then what is a t214. If a Tegra x2 is a t193 it can’t be that. My guess is a more modified X1, if we get this chip as the end user I don’t think it will provide as much of a boost that we need. Unless Nintendo pulls a curve ball and puts some power in this chip, I think we are goin* to be stuck with the switch we have

If that happens this time I guess it would have a big boost, because this is now a HD console...

If the upgrade would be huge, games like doom and Wolfenstein would have a big impact making the dynamic resolution to stay higher or finally give full FPS smoothness like on doom hardcore setting...

Maybe also some 720p games could go up to 900p or maybe even 1080p depending on how much upgrade we are talking.

Ninty is surely doubling down on portability rather than power for their next revision. 3DS still racking up waaay too many console sales with next to zero new software, they need to convert more of those people to $60 Nintendo games.

If they stop bringing AAA games from pc\other consoles, then I will probably almost never use my Switch like 3DS as I don't like kiddy games, sci-fi, anime or mostly all Nintendo games...

But upcoming spintires would let me play for a few days if it will even support mods like on PC steam workshop, but I definitely need analogue triggers and not crap digital ones...

And I'm tired of games I used to play as a kid or 2D games... I already started playing games in the very early 90s and played almost all I like since the 80s like space invaders, prince of persia, blues, all neo geos, lots of mame32 roms, sega, dreamcast.... But never actually liked much nintendo games. And I totally hate crap like Fortnite, PUBG and anything similar.

Lately I have only been playing Rising Storm Vietnam 2 and Spintires.

Actually I would kill to have something like Gran Turismo on the Switch portable with a proper analogue trigger which will never happen as nintendo like always is all about zelda, pokemon which I never liked even as a kid, japan anime, fantasy sci-fi, super mario and so on...

This is why its frustrating being a Nintendo owner. Reggie says there is stuff planned but is there really? Im doubtful its not that hard to produce somthing strong without breaking the bank, stop relying on APIS becuase they can only get you so damn far...

In fairness Wolf II seems to have done crap everywhere, and Skyrim was probably OK, but switch Doom really underperformed.

There are switches out in the wild that are patched that still use a t210

Digital foundry said x2 is more of a side grade to x1 because gpu improvement is minimal. So they believe the next switch will be using a custom tegra chip.

It's possible t214 is just a switch slim. <20nm x1, slimer and lighter, better screen and battery etc. But still the same specs.

There's no point to do a more powerful switch at this point. PS5 will mostly likely drop in 2020. It makes more sense to release it then.

I dont own or seen any in real life, but I dont think portable gaming will go beyond what they achieved for quite some time.

Wolfenstein was going in a very bad road, but the last one is really a masterpiece that came not much ago and can actually be played quite wonderful portable everywhere from what I saw on youtube.

What I don't see being done is anything close to wolfenstein on the switch, I see all kinds of AWESOME crazy indie games in the PC and some coming to PS4\Xbone and none for the Switch.

In my opinion Bethesda is quite ahead of everything on the Switch as I dont see nothing with frostbite coming for it even though old PS3 and X360 had the older versions of Frostbite, nothing indie of max graphics coming either, nothing at all.


Also in portable you don't really need the current PC games to be running on 4K at ultra settings, 720P at around medium settings on current PC games would be really crazy to have in a portable thing and sadly mostly only bethesda made that and probably not much close to it is coming soon other than jap anime like RPG games which I bloody hate so much...
