Curious about the banning of Switches.

First off! I never created a Nintendo account for my Switch and I'm still able to update .xci files along with being able to view tutorial videos when I'm in OFW without TX OS Pro installed. I basically been using TX OS Pro from the day I got it and I'm also using three separate Micro SD Cards on my Switch.

1st. SD Card for .xci Game Files "When I install any .xci file via PC to the SD Card for the first time I go ahead and enable WiFi to do a game update on OFW before I open or play the game. Then once completed I enable Airplane Mode once again".

2nd. SD Card For HomeBrew "The Switch stays in Airplane Mode all the time. I always download emulators with a PC then I manually install the emulators to the SD Card by using a PC".

3rd. SD Card for .nsp Game Files "When I install any .nsp file via PC to the SD Card for the first time I go ahead and enable WiFi to do a game update on OFW before I open or play the game. Then once completed I enable Airplane Mode once again".
I only downloaded and installed 2 games in .nsp format via PC to the SD Card and was able to update 1 game with the Switch and the 2nd game didn't require an update.

As far as newly first time installed .xci game files I'm still able to update them with no issues what so ever. Once I play any .xci game I never attempt to update it again...

I know there are post about consoles being banned just by one single .nsp or .xci files being updated. But for what I hear! It's usually the big ban if messing around with .nsp files.

I won't be doing anymore .nsp file updates via OFW! Maybe in the near future when things better improve. I'll just Google .nsp updates and I'll manually install them myself so I remain on Airplane Mode at all times.

Since I never created an account on my Switch and I'm still able to confirm my OFW v5.1.0 along with being able to connect to WiFi while being in OFW. I really don't know if my console is still alive from any sort of ban wave.

Since I'm not planning to create a Nintendo account anytime soon! I guess the only way I'll know if my Switch ever got banned is if it were to get hit with the big ban. Then I'll know for sure that my console has been completely banned...

PS
Even though I never setup an account on my console! I'm sure Nintendon't keeps some sort of history on their servers that contain every consoles keys and S/N. In the event a ban were to come my way? Then be it! As long as is not the big ban...
if ur gunna do it that way y even worry about being banned?? seems kinda dumb to stay in airplane mode 100% of the time, I mean if u get banned.... u get banned ull still be on the boat as the rest of us either way u go..... (btw sorry if it sounds cocky...shitty.... not meaning to)

Are there any reports of people using the backup hackfree nand and then restoring it to play online getting banned? I plan on fiddling with cfw and backups for a week and going back to online play, thanks.

I don't stay in Airplane Mode 100% of the time. I only stay in Airplane Mode when I play .xci or .nsp games, and I go online with OFW when I go to update any newly added .xci game before I even play it...

Only on .nsp I stay on Airplane Mode 100% of the time because I don't want to end up getting the big BAN, just like some of the others here that got the big ban mainly due to .nsp games being downloaded and updated from Nintndont eShop site.

I know this is a little of the topic. But I don't see the point on me creating an account on my Switch when I'm basically able to download just about every .nsp game that's available on eShop along with included update...

Like I stated on my post. I don't care if I get banned, I just don't want to get hit with the big BAN...

As far as you being cocky or shitty. Not at all!! It's all good...

Although I really should start asking people if they do this, no one seems to report being banned despite using this which speaks volumes towards its safety as a way to prevent bans.

While he did not use AutoRCM, he did some other unsafe things such as clearing error logs on 5.X, using SX OS online, and possibly trimmed .XCI files. What is interesting is that he was banned for using SX OS without using AutoRCM.

Oh I didn't see that he cleared error logs. Is that this part?

Looks like a question is missing or something. Like, "don't share" in system settings doesn't seem egregious but whatever method people were clearing logs seems to be a high correlation factor. Is that something you can even do in SX OS?

This question refers to clearing error logs, which is using nx-dreport, while simultaneously asking what firmware it was used on because SciresM stated that firmwares 5.X can track when error logs have been cleared.

Nope, he answered it here:
Disabled "Send Error Information" in System Settings? Y

Not within SX OS by itself, but its a homebrew that you run from the homebrew menu either when using ReiNX, Hekate/Atmosphere, or SX OS.

Ah, I was confused because that prompt is phrased as a presumption of sorts. Thanks. To my mind, I've seemingly noticed a correlation b/w the use of that homebrew log-clearing app and bans. I would imagine almost everyone has the Switch system error log box unticked. But even if not, that seems to be more innocuous than clearing logs.

I only enabled auto RCM for a little while, never connected to the internet while in SX OS, NSPs installed with TX method. Edit: Not know if relevant, but I connect from Colombia, South America.

Seriously? They ACTUALLY ban people for inappropriate nicknames? Forget modding, you can get banned without modifying your console. By the way, what was the username in question?

Is that not the one displayed at the top of the message:

Or can you have a seperate nickname in Splatoon 2? Don't play that game so I have no idea.

@CrisFTW, is this your first ban/suspension or has something similar happened before? I only ask because the message states:
This violation is a severe case or a repeat violation

That's honestly kind of crazy. Splatoon 2 doesn't even have any in-game reporting functions, does it? So this was likely caught by an automated filtering system.

Been using SX since release and still not banned. Updated scene rips in OFW many times, and used eShop. Always airplane-mode in SXOS. No homebrew or NSPs.

It seems if you stick to XCIs and don't take them online you're perfectly safe with current firmware. Lots there to keep me busy until emunand comes out (when I can homebrew and NSP with abandon).
