I have a DSi XL with everything working EXCEPT the touch screen...
You see, the touch screen shows things perfectly but... when I touch it, eeeehh... it is a MESS!
To sum up, the touch screen input is unstable. As an a example, I tried to enter my internet password and it took me 20 minutes...
And yes, this problem is like 5 years old...

your touch screen is damaged nothing can be done just need to get a new system.

*I cri everytim*
Welp I have another DSi but that one is in worse condition because it has broken LR buttons and the battery is just... whoa... It closes RANDOMLY! Sometimes it's not even the battery! It's the near always pressed power button! *Sigh* I'll just stick with this bad condition dsi and send the dsi xl to a technician or somethin' ...

And when the dsi xl will be fine, I'll throw away that broken DSi...

Try holding L + R + X while turning it on. This will let you recalibrate the touch screen. It sounds like a hardware problem, but you might be able to make it a little better by recalibrating it.

I did that and the calibration just repeated over and over!
I also cleaned the edges of the screen, still nothin'!
The worst part, I never dropped it or made it dirty! It's not my fault... Like... WHYYY?!
just to change digitizer and thats all

Yeah, screen definetly broke,
replacements can be found online.
If you don’t know how to take a DSi XL apart, or don’t have the correct screwdrivers, there might be someone that can fix it for you.
probably cheaper to buy a used one really lol.

ummm I'm not good at... opening things, take PS2 for example... I tried to fix the Disc Reader and when I opened the whole thing, the power button broke :))))
it is not so hard, just to be careful with ribbon cables and connectors

Wait... so the ONLY way I can fix this is by opening my actual DSi XL and poking things on the touch screen... thingy.
Trust me, if I could delete my 3DS cart whitelist and let my R4i play on it, then THIS thread wouldn't even exist...
That's why I'm using a stock DSi XL on 1.4...
Buuuut nintendo blocked 3DS sound exploits... thus needing to buy an obscure game "example: CubicNinja, which doesn't even exist in my country." OR buy a magnet to trigger an exploit and put my 3DS in danger with a stupid magnet!

Also, September is comin' soon, and that is obviously not a good thing...
