How do people in general keep it neat and tidy. At the moment everything is in root and looks like a mess. Main thing i would like is to at least have a subfolder for XCI files. Is that possible or do they need to be on root for SX to read them?

Nsp go to separate folder then delete.
Xci filled can be filtered by extension.
Since I put xci and installed nsp do not touch the card.

Unless TX change it in the next update you're stuck using the root folder for xci files.

Can You put nsp's to a seperated folder ?
You can put nsp files anywhere you like, in /nsp folder for example, since Devmenu will scan the entire card for *.nsp files and find them anyway.

In this way, you can tidy your SD card by using foldered nsp versions of games rather than xci's that stay in the root folder.

Nice, didn't know that. I heard that using NSP files is riskier than XCI files in terms of getting a ban. Can anyone confirm that?

What do you mean “they go to separate folder then delete” once the NSP files get installed in the SD card I can delete to free up space? How does that work?

I think it's like 3ds.
You need double space to install it because

1 - It's on your card
2 - It will install/uncompress it
So you have it twice (installation + installed)

FBI on 3ds had a nice options to install all and delete all, can't wait to see that kind of feature on a NXShell explorer for example :)

Nsp is installer, not image container like xci.
Once installed, nsp file can be removed from sd.

Nice i did not know this. Have you been banned or tried going online yet? Is it true NSP's are riskier then XCI's for getting banned?

What? You mean I can load NSP files including Updates and DLC and after I install everything I can delete it off the SD card and still be able to play the game? How? The option says that it installs to the SD not the System Memory. Please help me understand that part.

just like when you download a program installer on windows
you got the exe file, install the program somewhere and then you can delete the installer exe file. same thing with switch and nsp files

But where on the SD card is it installed? And how come after installing a 15gb game on a 32gb SD card it still shows me only 15gb is used. If I deleted the NSP files I would have all my space back? That doesn’t make sense. Thanks for taking the time out to answer these questions by the way.

I would assume in the Nintendo\Contents directory http://switchbrew.org/index.php?title=SD_Filesystem
