If my switch is banned can I put my nintendo account on a new console and redownload all my purchases?

I was just going to ask this. Is it the console that's banned, or the user and the console? If it's just the console I can calm myself down that the thousands I spent on my account won't be lost forever due to a lapse in smart behavior. I have no issue buying another switch to use for legitimate stuff, I just thought I was safe for having never had the intention of launching retail games since I just buy them now.

Yes lads, they'll be able to ban your account, as a few have already experienced and reported, but you'll still be able to play online you just can't access the eShop anymore together with any games you may have purchased on there. So, if that is holding you back, try to get your games retail which is what I have been doing as well.

I have all my games retail except for rocket league and stardew valley (I got bored of both though). I'm only worried about my save data and DLC I purchased. If only my console was banned but my account wasn't is it possible to transfer my account?

Probably, yes. Account bans happen rarely, but I assume they can see what account has been on what switch, and perhaps even ban your new switch, though what I'm saying is pretty much speculation on my end.

By the way, if your account does get banned, you cannot unlink it without calling Nintendo. It might be worth a shot since a banned console is about as good as an unbanned account. Worst case scenario, they unban you only to find out you're still using hacks on another console. At least they made an extra $300 when they unlinked it for you.

Assuming they can see what accounts have been linked to which switch, perhaps. But that is only if they were going to ban your account to begin with, honestly it's hard for us to tell, and unclear what ban you'll receive until it's too late.

Depends, did you do anything hacking related while the account was still connected AND were you online when that happened? If yes, there is a very small possibility they can but they very rarely do account bans unless you were really naught.

Sorry, was totally not my intention. If it makes you feel any better, I'm gonna risk going online with a hack-free EmuNAND to see if its safe. Unfortunately, my console is not 100% hack free but I won't be doing anymore hacks once its online. Also, we don't know if restoring a NAND backup prior to performing any hacks can prevent a ban or not. It just might but it needs to be tested.

I used SX OS (including license activation) and enabled rpm for a bit. Right after reading this thread and seeing the statistics behind SX OS only bans, I removed autorpm via the SX menu and removed the files from the microsd card. I don't even think I launched an app while in the SX OS. Hopefully they don't consider that "naughty".

No worries man, I'd rather keep it unbanned but if it gets banned so be it. I have another one for Splatoon 2 and MK.

Also, if backing up your NAND requires homebrew, can we really say the backup is prior to hacking?

If it helps calm you, I've been using Hekate, checkpoint and a lot of other homebrew without dreport for months before SX released, and I've not been banned in any of the ban waves.
