I wasn't interested in this game but given how hyped it is I've started looking into it. The graphics look great, but that's all a few minutes of footage can really tell me. How does the battle system fare? Is the story interesting and the dialogue worth reading?

I started playing yesterday, (logged in to update it and got banned ) and I can not put it down. The stories start of kinda slow and are somewhat repetitive, since each character has their own story.
But everything really picks up after the first few levels. Combat is great and the "break" system they have lends it self to more strategy.

I'm stuck at work, but planning to pick it up on the way home and pull an all-nighter if it's as good as I'm hoping, which the demos seem to suggest it will be.

Looking forward to playing this when I get home later today. It does look pretty cool. Didn't want to play the demo because Im not into playing teaser demo games. Really hoping its like a revamped FFIII (crosses fingers) which is still one of my all time favorite Square Enix games.

Did you log in in SX or official FW?

Its not a bad game, my only complaint is that battles seem to last forever and enemies have a lot of health compared to the damage you can deal and you have no way of telling how much they have left

I am really enjoying so far.
I like the characters and collected them all before going forward.
Love the combat system that feels really like Bravely Default.
And of course, the graphics and OST are just amazing!

I'm not big into RPG games at all (at least not MODERN RPGs), but if you played RPGs back in the SNES days, you would LOVE it....I highly recommend it. I got the XCI file 2 days before release, however, I had the Wayfarer's Edition on pre-order, despite pirating the game, I didn't cancel my pre-order, I had no problem paying full price for the game (and then some, btw, I love the soundtrack....it does NOT get old!)...I'm about 11 hours in...and STILL cannot manage to find a place that sells staff's :(...i'm sure its some place simple that i'm just overlooking....)

My pre-order came today and I've already got 5hours into it lol

It feels like an old school jrpg but has a neat visual flair. The start is slow but you can pretty much go recruit whoever whenever and I opted for the priestess and thief and Hunter so far. It's also funny when you explore a little too far out and get insta-wrecked lol.

I like it so far hopefully as it branches out in chapters things pick up. Combat is pretty cool and each characters unique ability can be used in neat ways.

Played about 15 hours. It's not your traditional RPG in the sense of party interaction (there is almost none), but if you are open for an other kind of experience it's worth it. Cool battle system so far.

For those of you who started playing already, who did you choose as your main/starter. I went with H'aanit and she is kicking some serious ass so far.

my premium edition isnt shipped yet... and i gave into to loading a backup.... just cant wait for it.
The contents are kind of gimmicky, but the pop-up book, coin, and box itself are still really nice. I'm glad I got it, but wish it at least included a steel case like Xenoblade Chronicles 2. That was overall a better value, especially with the giant hardcover art book, though I wasn't actually that fond of its generic anime art style.

Just got my last character (about 14h45) and done some of side quests, and I'm loving it so far (didn't played the demo fully before)
Great battle system and OST, stories and characters seems interesting, and I like the liberty with exploring (more or less like an open world I'd said).
Well, there's some flaw (some characters field ability that are more or less the same between them, like Cyrus and Alfyn), the fact that character outside party don't level up (which can be quite tedious), or random battle that appear pretty often. Also there's not a lot of interection between characters for now.
But aside of that, really great for now :)

Its not a bad game, my only complaint is that battles seem to last forever and enemies have a lot of health compared to the damage you can deal and you have no way of telling how much they have left
You can see ennemy HP with the skill of one of the character

The same than you. I took her first, then Ophilia, Cyrus, Therion, Tressa, Olberic, Primrose and finaly Alfyn :)
