That is what I am using... VMWare Fusion on my Macbook Pro ;)

OMG....it worked on my VM!! Sadly, not much space on that VM LOL....so i'm going to try again on my Windows PC and see if it will work....I got V2 of CDNSP from another site (probably can't mention it here), but literally, got it up and running like 10 minutes!

EDIT: Deleted all the crap from my other attempt and tried again on the Windows PC and it worked as well. So something about that last version (I think it was the python script) wasn't right...got a LOT more space with this machine! :)

I've just been installing nspz I will always play, eg. Mario kart. And XCIs for games I will swap out, easier to manage on the SD card.

i installed main games to the switch itself, but nsp are a hell of a lot smaller in some cases then cut xci files. like odyess is super small at compared to its trim xci. plus its more convient then having to go to albums each time to launch a new game

No i have a second switch for complete offline play, not like i would want to go online regardless servers are usually shotty and local wireless play works just fine for me. but i do have a back up non sxos switch for gen9 pokemon

So does nsp updates and dlc work with loading xci games?

yea i have a post on reddit somewhere showing that i loaded botw dlc just fine with and xci, i tested it later with nsp. figured nothing would change since its stored on the system, i was right no reason to worry.

Not currently I don't think. But you just install all 3 and delete them off the SD card anyway

People acting like pressing A on the album is hard. I'm gonna keep using XCI's because I already loaded up my SD card with them. Not gonna waste another write cycle to add nsp files, then another write cycle to install each of them. What if I restore a NAND backup, what happens to all the tickets for the games I installed. They will all be wiped out and I'd have to reinstall the games. And OP wants to actually use FTP to transfer game files instead of from a computer where it's much faster? I don't understand that appeal. FTP is great for small files, but definitely not for big files.
This reminds me of the 3DS scene where people felt like 3 seconds was too long to wait for splash screens. It's not a huge significant difference and its the same for XCI's.
In my point of view, I'd rather not deal with NSP installs since you need twice the space on the SD to install each game. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will need about 28 GB to install a 14 GB game for example. My SD card will be worn out by the time I'm done installing everything. I don't think anyone cares about write cycles on their storage.

Is it possible to use eshop title other than Pokemon quest?
Yes.
Are they free? No.
But can they be loaded as an .XCI to swap with DevMenu? Yes.
What are they? Bayonetta and Super Mario Odyssey.
Assuming you have SXOS 1.3 on your SDCard (and your Switch is on 5.1.0 firmware ... to be confirmed) :
1. Download bayonetta JPN XCI on your favorite dump site (i can't post a link for that) and put the XCI on your SD Card
2. Download DevMenu archive (i think i'm not allowed to put a link for that too)
3. Rename the folder in titles as 010076F0049A2000 (this is Bayonetta game ID)
4. Replace main.npdm in \sxos\titles\010076F0049A2000\exefs\ with the one here (patched with Bayonetta game ID)
5. put the sxos folder at the root of your sdcard
6. put any NSP you want to install at the root of your SDCard and put it back on your switch
6. after booting with SXOS, select Bayonetta cartridge in the Album menu and start the game
7. DevMenu should start instead of Bayonetta
8. Select Install from SDCard and go on to install the games
9. "Eject" Bayonetta with X button to let the installed game appear
(also y u no respond to my pm)

I'll take drag and drop xci over nsp any day of the week. Wish there was a way to convert eshop nsp files to xci like on 3ds with cia->3ds.

I only use NSP updates and DLC for XCI backups, tho I can't see how NSP can be detected in OFW since they won't activate let alone not allowing you to play online.
I couldn't launch my paid BOTW cart in OFW due to installing NSP season passes, but I can in CFW mode

For me the best thing about NSP is that no one knows you are playing pirated games. With XCI you have to load them through the album icon and the big SXOS logo in the background... it's embarrassing when you are playing on TV with friends asking you what is SXOS?

I bought the BotW cart and then bought the DLC for it. Since I didn't want to pop out the game cart every time I switch games I got the rev001 dump, updated it on OFW and then delinked my account and the DLC stopped working after a week or so. Was yours purchased DLC or download?

Wait - lets say I install the .nsp through dev menu on the SD card. Is it ok to delete the .nsp files (and all the remaining update and DLC files)?
Or is the .nsp file the "main" data file for this game?

Once installed you can delete all the nsp files.
The 2x size requirement for install is only a temporary thing.
Not sure why people get so spicy about it.
