Hi friends.

I just purchased my switch today and i am currently on 4.1.0 .. but i would like to connect to the internet to set up my nintendo stuff to add friends but i keep getting prompts to update even after i followed the guide to block the updates. Should I just update or is there something I could possibly be doing wrong to block the update?

Any help is appreciated :)

turn off your switch and hold down both the - and + volume buttons and then turn it on while holding it and you should be in maintenance mode then once your there, restart and see if its gone now.

Yes Ive tried that right after entering the DNS information as directed in the guide but im still receiving the update probpts.

What you are experiencing is known as the super update nag. It is a nag that is triggered when the Switch connects online and cannot be removed from the recovery menu. What localhost is trying to do is give you a tool to remove it but you cannot remove it without first setting up your Switch properly. Follow this guide for setting up your Switch so it can load homebrew. Then after it is set up, you will set the homebrew that localhost linked you to remove the super update nag.

That guide uses out of date builds of Hekate that are much buggier and don't have support that the newer build use such as sleep mode and regular game launching. It also makes the assumption that the user only has a Windows device when you can send payloads with a much more wide variety of devices in the event OP does not have a PC.
