Hacking PKG to PS3_folder format

Hey guys! So.. i have been scouring the web trying to find out how to convert pkg games into folder format and i couldnt find anything! Can somebody please help me? i have a 1tb fat32 ext hdd and i want to populate it only with folder format games, psx isos, psp isos etc... help?

Isn't it enough to extract the .pkg and use the folders inside it?
If so, try using PKG Ripper 1.4.3 by Rudi Rastelli or PSN PKG Decryptor & Extractor v1.85 by leecher man (LMAN).

No, the app type in the param.sfo must be changed (as the JB folder format spoofs an optical disc), any executables must be resigned, ...
(besides, folder games are a deprecated format - it's recommended to use isos unless you're experimenting with making game mods and really want ease of file replacement)

I wrote a tutorial some months ago about the manual way (or you can use PSN Liberator), but compatibility when converting between disc formats (GAMES folder, iso) and HDD formats ("game" folder, pkg) is far from 100%

Well, i tried formatting my drive to ntfs but webman would not recognize it.. and there are a lot of jb and pkg format games out there, but isos are nowhere to be found..can webman see jb folders on an ntfs drive?

I think folder format is not supported from NTFS (but haven't tried much - I only use the internal disk, which saves a lot of headaches) - that's indeed one of the most visible advantages of ISO (which you can convert with genps3iso/makeps3iso)

And yes, I've also given up on converting everything to iso (to have every game listed inside webman's XMB folder) because most games I care about aren't really compatible when converted...

The main practical deficiencies of the folder format are:
- Not supported on NTFS
- Implemented in a completely different way (peek & poke instead of Cobra) which allegedly is problematic if you use a cfw disabler to go online (no personal experience... I only use them to buy undumped games and backup them)
- Lots of small files generally means more wasted space and slower copy/delete performance
and the only real advantage is convenience for file modding...
