Analysing the Trinket M0 specifications, I came up an idea, why not a 3v battery to power it?

Those are lithium PRIMARY batteries, not lithium rechargable. You will have to replace those, so you will need a button cell holder. Also, unsure if they can properly provide enough mA without voltage sag. Would need testing.

Personally, I would go with one of the tiny lipo cells from adafruit. The 150mAh battery is pretty small. (about the size of a pen cap.) It is fully rechargable, and could make use of that recharging circuit.

Will the adafruit feather basic proto do the job? The Lipo charger seems embeded.

(Édit) Still hesitating with the @Retroid openwrt road : the flashing process is linux only or I can flash from windows?


There is documentation for using host mode with the microcontroller it is built around, so yes?

RE: A5-V11 flashing

Yes, you can flash a prebuilt payload from any OS. Building the payload will require a linux GCC toolchain.

If you mean "Can I flash the image for the A5-V11 hardware onto a feather proto?", then the answer is no. When I say "yes" above, it means you can write an embedded microcontroller program to perform the injection, much like ninoh-fox did. You still would have to write that program; just the hardware itself would be capable of running it, and injecting a payload to an NX console.

Found a way to boot without computer/Phone, uses Portable Modems or whatever we find, Ninoh Found a way to use a Adafruit trinket to upload the payload to the switch.

The short end of the stick:

Openwrt/LEDE + Retr0id's mini injector program + host-mode capable hardware == WIN
Trinket + charger + Lipo + Ninoh-FOX's program == WIN

Feather Basic Proto needs microcontroller program. Potential win. (has built in lipo charger, supports host mode)


More meaty:

There is a cheap chinese "router" (A5-V11 --AKA-- "3G / 4G router 150m") that costs between 7 and 12$ online that comes in a variant that contains a built in lipo battery. It is solderless. Just needs an appropriate USB cable. We have two successful builds/flashes.

There are several travel routers that contain batteries and can run openwrt that could also be targeted similar to the known working A5-V11 hardware. Several are mentioned and discussed. None tested yet.

Ninoh-FOX has cobbled together several bits of COTS kit with some tiny soldering, lots of hot glue, and a home-brewed microcontroller program. It is based on an Adafruit Trinket M0.

When I get my new zsun card reader in the mail, and my actually proper soldering kit, I will again attempt surgery on the zsun card reader. Requires tiny soldering.

I might try Trinket m0 later this month, there's a way to test it without an appropriate USB C port? It'll take a while to reach my country if I buy from China, and I wasn't able to find it on local markets.

I think you can use a regular usb-A, and then use a usb-A to usb-C, which works fine

Yes, that works fine, or make a microusb to ucb c cable (I maked one)
