What's with all these hackers releasing shit for Switch in vertical mode? It looks stupid, since the Switch isn't a phone, or designed for vertical use.

This is an "old" problem.

I'm quite familiar with this since I have a GPD Win.

There are basically no landscape screens in that size, so Switch (and the GPD Win) use phone screens.

Phone screens are, hardware-wise, portrait mode.
So everything that runs on Switch has to be rotated first, on a low level.

true, the same happends in the win 2

Actual emulators will need to be ported. Here, OpenGL is already available and running at full speed. The only drawback is that we're tied to available cores for arm64.
Any chance you have touchscreen working? :-P compiled your latest commit, but I have no USB otg adapter

Not yet. The touchscreen requires xorg, and for now we didn't manage to get it working (it gets killed by a sigabort). Plus, RetroArch will need a touch screen driver for xorg, and I don't know if it's supported yet.

We're working on it though !

touch wont be perfect , to have the joycons working would be enough

They do, however the joysticks are no longer recognized by RetroArch (but they are in jstest), I'll have to figure out why

Wish it were as easy as "cvt 1280x720" followed with accompanying xrandr commands :\ (for xorg that is, quoted post unrelated LOL)

Any updates on this?? I am not trying to rush you but I am very excited about running lakka on my switch. I have it setup on my odroid but the switch is perfect for this type of os.

Follow me on Twitter for daily updates - latest update is xorg server running and screen rotation with xrandr : https://twitter.com/natinusala/status/998239484486602752

I'll clean it and merge the branch tomorrow, along with touch screen support.

Awesome I'll defiantly keep an eye out for it. I'm really excited about it. Hopefully you'll have sound worked out. I'm not complaining by any means but it can make or break a game. Sound has always been very important to me. But either way thanks for the hard work. Can't wait to try it out.

well to update on the sound situation there are people working on it , but thanks to the bugged nvidia drivers and kernels its a pain in the ass to get it working

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

While I agree sound is important, it's infortunately out of my scope as the kernel needs to be updated. More skilled people are currently working on it though.

cant wait to try lakka once its on your branch let me know :) just hope the joycon works

It's no problem. I wish I had the skills to help but unfortunately I do not. I can help test and things like that but that's about all. I have been modding things since my original xbox so I am not a noob by any means. I remember destroying an xbox mobo for the ram chips then soldering them to another for a 128mb xbox.....those were the days.
But any way what you are doing is awesome so keep it up!

Some good news.
