BTW, if it works on all FW, do they also mean futures FW too? A bit like Sky3DS?
Also, if it's a yes, could they fix this bug in futures version of switch? (new switch hardware design)
Considering they are using rcm to boot their firmware, and mariko switches aren't in the wild yet. I think its safe to assume that this is a Tegra X1 bug. probably the same bug used by Reswitched and F0F. It would be impossible to fix on any firmware past or future for any current model switches.

So they are using the exact same entry-point as everybody else. The only difference beeing that they developed a cfw with backuploading inhouse ? Give other people a few weeks when atmosphere is done and well have feature parity in some way or another...

I think their solution works across firmware versions RIGHT NOW. This alone makes this huge if true.

But they're a business. Not a group with a patreon account. Their whole existence is fueled by seeking money.
That's it. And that's what I see wrong. And just to clarify, I don't try to change your (or anyone's) point of view with all this, just explaining my reasoning.

alright cool, thanks

Homebrew for the XBox 360 didn't really come until people started using glitching. Before of that, it was exclusively loading commercial games copies.
Not really, once JTAGs became common the COD and GTA scenes blew up with a bunch of cool mods. Even more so when the admittedly conterversal XBL Stealth was released so that modded consoles could go online. There were also custom dashboards and a plethora of other tools

Yes loading backups was a thing and will always have a small part in modified consoles no matter how much we try and prevent it, but the argument that something will only be used for piracy and will kill homebrew is a straight lie that is being spread as fact.

No I understand, but why is that wrong? I'm not trying to convince you either. I seek to understand. People make stuff -> they can charge for it, for people who are willing to buy. I don't see that as inherently bad if they're not stealing pieces of their code from other places and not honoring licenses.

They start preorders Saturday for $29.95 according to their distributor.
Yeah I'd pay that for a pre-order @Noctosphere lol.

At that price I wouldn't care if it was useless in a couple of months or a bit glitchy in the early days.

For all those cheap ass pirates out there, on the plus side the time it will take to rip out the backup loader method and get it on Atmosphere would be very short I imagine.

I'm afraid this will just kill the spirit of the homebrew. Just YouTube be /Z8TSo3lIK00

All the fun, all the things being made for the scene, will die just because some people just want to make profit from piracy. A real shame.
Nope, that's wrong. Sorry.

Not sure, nobody's ripped off Gateway's .3ds file loading yet.
