Yeah, I am on the latest version, aka 1.4.2 as it auto updated itself to it when I first booted the program. Glad to hear it will be fixed sometime soon :) Til then, I suppose ill just have to exit the program via the Home button.

Hi all. Am having an issue with Freeshop where my 3DS crashes when I press the Start button while in Freeshop, it spits out a black screen that says "an exception occurred", and then the 3DS shuts down. Any idea what's happening here?
known bug. Doesn't happen to everyone. Luma's fault.

Lord... been using FreeShop for a couple days now and man is it buggy. I am getting tons of random exception crashes. Any time I try to queue more than a couple things my 3ds crashes. Heck, if I try to do anything at all too fast it crashes. Sometimes it just crashes even if i'm barely doing anything. Seems there are quite a few bugs to fix. Am really having a hard time getting through downloads without crashes constantly interrupting...

Oh, and one particularly frustrating bug is after some time the internet connection says it has disconnected and it will not come back unless I power off the unit. Shutting down FreeShop and restarting doesn't help. This happens even though my connection on the 3ds itself is fine. No idea why this happens, but I find myself having to reboot the device from time to time to bring the internet back up.

Hello, does anyone know how frequently the cache is updated? There is a specific date each month for that? I tried searching but only found about some altcache which seems to be removed from Github.

Thanks in advance.

There is 2 different caches i know of. The earlier version one is updated like once a month. The newer one is auto updated 1-2 times a week.

Thanks for the answer. Some old posts says the same thing, like it being updated several times every week but it's from an old github link that doesn't work anymore.

I managed to find this one: https://gitlab.com/altCache/altCache-v2/

I tried refreshing the cache from my Freeshop and it seems to match the version from that link (which is r159). However it wasn't been updated in 3 weeks, i'm just curious if the schedule has been changed.

I also got r159 for the cache. Im not sure if it hasnt really been updated recently if there has been no new content to add to the cache.

The cache updates every wednesday, however, at the moment, the raspberry pi that runs the cache isn't working.

Even though there was some confusion, thanks again to @xXPaulMCXx for holding down the fort from the meantime. Those regional language users with stability issues got early access to the latest release. That must have been a crazy Cinco de Mayo Evi and Byokugen were recovering from missing their deadline, not that we were gonna knock them down for it. Do homebrews really have scheduled deadlines per se? ^_^

For those looking for the .3dsx version, evi repo's finally released it. There's some slight changes in the cia for v4.1.3 between paul's and evi's, which is probably chalked up to last minute improvements and slight difference in devkitpro library and recompiling.

4.1.3

Byokugen 20 minutes ago 0 commits to master since this release

4.1.3 changes:

  • Fixes Russian translation crashing on launch.
  • Improved Dutch translation.
  • Improved US Spanish translation.
  • Improved Japanese translation.
  • Improved Romanian translation.
  • Brought to you by your humble freeshop stalker, Byo ^^.
  • We fixes some fockwups OWO ~snoozles~.

Edit - R160 cache came out today. It has Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux.

I know you mean well and what you said is indeed a possibility. We're not here to accuse anyone of plagiarism or stealing credit for work done between either you or Evi/Byokugen. If that's the case, this is all the more reason why we would like to see you two come to an agreement collaborating freeShop's future development as we've seen in the past the drama the stemmed from pettiness in other homebrew projects.

We do not want to see freeShop go down this route.

If you feel the best way moving forward with freeShop is different than Evi's, the best way to win over the public is by continually improving your branch and releasing yours with claims in changes you can call your own. People will judge and decide whether your's is the better or defacto freeShop.

I rather there wasn't two freeShop and that we were all gentlemen and ladies, but crap happens. Don't let crap ruin you and your reputation.

1) I'd love to merge back, it's not my decision
2) my reputation is already a pile of shit lol

Well my username is litterally shit, but that doesn't let it stop me. lol.

Can you elaborate why Evi doesn't want to merge repo with you? I would like to hear both yours and his side of the stories. Be fair as possible in your assessment of the situation as people can perceive stuff teh wrong way.

things happened, evi threw me out. I don't see a reason he'd want to let me back in. Also, evi is not primarily in charge of the fork anymore. It's wrathsoffire76

I see. Well, don't let that stop you in working on your take of freeShop but also absolutely do not directly involve yourself with anything with them or their stuff. It sounds like whatever beef went down between you and them should stay that way * not get escalated and not spill over to the threads unless you're forced to confront and defend your name.

Of course borrow whatever new source code from them if it's needed in improving your freeShop but make sure to give proper credit where it's due, even if you have to bite your lips doing it. Whatever progress is yours, release your own builds and make no spectacle when announcing those releases. Those who use and find your version of freeShop to be of value compared to community will eventually come around and see it for what it's worth.

None of this will matter if the 3DS users will think you're out of way of getting back at your old team members. You win no favors doing this. Chin up and press forward my friend. :)

* Edit - Reworded for clarify. No one should hold grudges. If you can't let go, you should not make it worse.

I installed and launched Freeshop before I ever launched EShop, now Freeshop has no default music is there anyway to fix this?
