What I read before hand is that it's going to be a silent release. What that will indicate is not more CPU or Memory. It's not new Switch. Just other compontents mostly to make them more secure, cheaper to make and over all better. Like new joycons today.

So get one now if you wanna be sure. Else wait and play the lottery.

There's a guy in the trading section selling them but you need 100 posts to access that.
You can make one yourself with a 3D printer and some wire or order the 3D printed parts online and add the wire yourself.
Thats kinda a good business he got. He knew the law of supply and demand pretty well.

It bridges the pins without needing to open the Switch or JoyCon and without soldering anything.
I guess it's technically still a hardmod though but it's so easy that it doesn't matter.
Ahh I see! I just saw a thread that you can just use a paper clip :P

But is it something I have to do now?
Or can I wait when CFW is released with a proper guide how to install CFW on the switch? :)

Be careful with paperclips, you could potentially damage the pins inside the Switch and I think someone already damaged theirs that way so now they can't use their JoyCons docked anymore.
A wire jig will always be inserted correctly so there should be less risk.

Thank you for the warning mate! Didn't know about that. :O
Where in the trading area can I find that guy that sells those Jigs thingy? I can't give him :/

Also do I have to do it right away? Or can I wait until CFW is released? :)

Huh? What? How do? I thought it’s easy?
i mean, its not hard, but the part where you need to use a jig and connect the thing to your smartphone/pc to send the payloads every time you hard reset/run out of battery is a huge hassle.
especially with the switch being so bad at conserving battery in standby mode.
i mean, looking back at 3ds menuhax, just remembering to hold L+down at startup was annoying.

true and does this also apply to softmod or only hardmod?

One, but both. ;)

Softmod refers to "no hardware needed". (Jig, qualifies as hardware, so does wire, or modchip.)
Hardmod refers to "hardware needed".

Softmods could be a nuisance to launch as well though. Thats not exclusive to hardmods. ;) (Launch system, wait for Wifi connection, go into a submenu to trigger an online request to pull up a browser with a doctored captive portal. Press "do". Wait 7 seconds. Press "OK". Wait 5 seconds, press home, ..open the gallery.)
