Hacking Does my Flashcart have a time bomb?

As far as I know only the Gateway Card (And therefore clones of the Gateway card) had the Time Bomb code in them, Unless I'm missing something and certain DS Flashcards started doing it also

Find out. Set the date on your 3ds to 2020 and see if it still works.

If not, just set the date back again.

Yup thats a bomb card,i have the same one.Your going to have to use ysmenu and duelboot the standard kernel for bw 2,since ysmenu has saving issues wih some games,but wont bomb on a bomb card that cant use wood.

Gateway is completely diffrent.It could/still can detect other outdated super cards that ran cfw at the time while your in gateway mode,and it would hard brick your console due to somthing people call "the brick code".Its pretty anti consumer which is why some people stoped supporting it due to people using other cards and being unaware of the brick code.

A time bomb is when your flashcards drm kernel locks up on a specific date.You either 1.set the date back and mess up the eshop and other online games that need the proper date to function properly,or 2.you check the website for the stock kernel and see if it got a update to extend the lock date.You also have ysmenu but its outdated compared to wood and has save issues with some games.

I wish,the problem is both the twl nand and ctr nand are set to the same date as each other.

There was a app i was messing called RTChanger where you can change the date through a homebrew app and keep the time you want set sort of so you can swap between what you want.

I bought that cart (just to have a dedicated GM9 cart) and it has a timebomb. Basically every cart made by the R4i-SDHC team have timebombs built into their kernels. You can run YSMenu on them to bypass the timebomb, but I know some games like Pokemon B2/W2 have don't work so good with YSMenu.
Honestly I suggest avoiding all carts with the following URLs: r4i-sdhc.com, r4isdhc.com, r4isdhc.com.cn
They are all made by the same team and have timebombs built into their kernel. Just stick with the R4i Gold (plus) from http://r4ids.cn/
They officially use Wood R4 and don't have a timebomb.

Yeah retail carts will work as long as the DS can read them

Yes, all R4i Gold Pros, R4i-SDHC, and several other carts using the URL, R4I-SDHC.COM or any version will have a timebomb built into the official kernel as they are all literally the same cart. You can use Retro's files to get around the timebomb
