First I am re-making Bit.Trip Beat in Labo, here's the proof of concept

it's made some progress since that video was made including scoring having been implemented now.
Also check out this little hit the target game I made, there's more rules to it than you might except (I went out of my way to make sure you can only have one missile shot at a time).

Anyone here have anything sick to share?

EDIT: I've also made a Drop D guitar with all 6 strings both with and without a delay effect if anything wants to see/hear it.

Isn't stuff like this and smilebasic still kinda homebrew? I dunno what the real definition of homebrew is but the games I made in the videos are home brewed imo

From Google, isn't this still videos of software made at home and not in a store or factory? I mean sure I used Labo to make it but I mean I use Visual Studio to make stuff too and don't forget Unity. I'm not sure why I'm still responding though, it really is not important. Mods will move the thread if need be.

First, this is pretty awesome! Nice work!
Two, why people don't count it as homebrew is it's because it's part of Labo. I however agree it's both a homebrew and not a homebrew at the sametime.

holy balls, that's even more awesome than I thought Labo even could do. Nintendo really did what I hoped they would, to allow "programming" in a simpler form. They just make the software dirt-cheap instead of bundled.

Since you're using a purchased game as intended by its developers, it's not homebrew. You're just playing the game.

oh that's neat. White boxes on the screen, cut out shapes and use as an overlay. I like it.

I have moved this topic to the Switch - Games and content subforum since it's still content created within Nintendo Labo. I can however understand how this could be seen as homebrew as it's something you've developed yourself for this feature.


Now can people please stop arguing about whether it is considered homebrew and discuss the creation in question.

if this is classified as howmbrew all make your own game type of games would be homebrews wich they arent you dont call minecraft,lego worlds,mario maker,little big planet,etc homebrew games just becuase you can make stuff at home do you?
