You bet I won't be using a Chinese cloud service! And how is ROM flashing not deleting everything related to good encryption?
Meaning you can't bypass the welcome screen, so if someone else gets a hold of your phone, the phone constantly sends you its location and keeps itself locked, only the owner of the phone can unlock it after being wiped/ROM flashed.
A ROM flash DOES wipe everything but the Mi Cloud service sits on the persist partition of the phone, a partition you can't thinker meaning its practically theft-proof.
You don't have to use it, but if you want to keep things backed up and Find My Device active, it has to be activated.

Literally all of the news stories about OnePlus leaking info to chinese servers were proven to be misconceptions or simply false. Even then, the OP seems to be keen into installing third party roms on his phone, so it wouldn't matter even if Oxygen OS leaked anything (which again, it doesn't).

I know for sure that ZTE does that, had one and there are lot of processes in the background sending my info over.
People are afraid I guess :/ but its not like Google doesn't do the same thing, they even know where you went and where you are even without you knowing that they're keeping that data.

What happened to no chinese phones?
No chinese phones means no Xiaomi, Huawei, ZTE, Nokia or OnePlus.

Isn't that functionality lost if I, say, install Lineage OS?
These are subpar phones
Subpar? At least the P20 pro looks quite premium to me.
for customizing i would take LG , Huawei or Xiaomi
The only brand I don't agree with here is LG. Didn't they use eFuses in the past?

Valid point (though I wrote it doesn't send data to Chinese servers which != Chinese phone). I realised if I put CFW on it, OFW doesn't matter.

Only if you replace ALL softwares, including binary blobs for whatever how many components phones have these days.
This is only achievable if you use something like Replicant, which has very limited support last I checked.
Of course, hardwares with their fw embedded in remains untouchable.

It doesn't have a headphone jack (which personally to me is a sign of poor judgement and blind following of apple, something I never want to support), and is made by Huawei, which is a chinese company that actually has had some issues with data leaks. Also, it's not running a stock version of android, updates are also not expected to be regular on Huawei phones. The processor is a kirin chipset, which while being one of the better chinese SoC's, is inferior even to mid range Snapdragons.

Thanks, you changed my mind, no Huawei then.
An OG Google Pixel will do ya good. You can snatch these babies for about $300 on eBay, and they'll do about everything you need them to do.
I sooo, sooo much want a Pixel, but I could find no new 128GB black European model which ships to Hungary.

Shipping to Hungary is pretty easy! just ship it from somewhere else in Europe, will cost a bit more, but in the end its secure and up to date.

Or give Op6 a go, has the newest specs and up to date, sadly it's Chinese.. but with a custom rom the Chinese servers are not there anymore.

LG and EFuses??? WTF?????.....i have a LG G6 and rooted with custom rom ....no probs....... but.......if u root ...no Huawei or Sony......Samsung too (rooting on it will Render Samsung Knox unusable)

Found this thing called Xperia XZ2 Compact. Has SD845. Would the Pixel still be a better choice with its SD835? (Also Sony has LCD and Pixel has OLED. I'm afraid I'll get headaches from the PWM. (Or am I just too paranoid? :P))

Lol what's wrong with the razer phone

Sent from my toaster running rebug
Besides having completely squared corners that are just asking for you to drop it and crack the screen.
Its kind of over priced for what it is, besides they have no experience with smartphones so pretty sure updates will be amiss.
