I'm barely about to start playing this... late to the game. (Pun intended). Do people still play this, either offline or online? I'm mainly getting it for game night at my place. Also, is the project dead, or are people still designing tracks? It would be so cool if there were some Mario Kart 8 tracks added. (Of course they'd have to be downgraded versions).

You can play the older version of ctgp which is v1.02 online without having to buy a copy of mario kart wii but for the newest version v1.03 you need a legit copy of the game.

Cvskid: I have the original disc. I'm wondering since it has its own menu selecion in HBC, if it will also appear in USB Loader GX. I haven't gotten around to downloading yet. Do you know if it can be launched through USB Loader GX, (not the wbfs).

I am pretty sure you cant launch newer versions of CTGP via USB loader be it with or without a disc

Okay I have the actual disc. This means once i install everything, I can go into USB Loader GX, (with the MK disc inserted already), and it will appear in my menu list ready to play? It's that simple?

As someone who has played a lot of CTGP-R, I can confirm that the online is still very active. You might start in a 4 player room, but if you stick around long enough it's not hard to get a full 12 player lobby.

And no, you don't have to deal with Riivolution anymore, just run the launcher from HBC or Wii Menu.

I just got around to playing this last night for the first time, although just trying out some tracks offline. Didn't feel like getting pwnd, lol. I installed all updates a few days ago, but when I finally played last night, 6 new tracks were added. People are still actively adding tracks? Someone please (re)make some Mario Kart 8 tracks!!!

That's cool! Nice to know I can just search for tracks and download them. The airport level says "FAIL" though. I'm guessing it doesn't run correctly?

Not those tracks as they are released, but tracks can be added with automatic updates.

Sounds cool. I’m surprised no one has done all tracks from MK8 though. I want to see how the anti gravity parts work lol

Can anyone in here help me add custom characters to CTGP? I have all .szs files and the driver.szs file but cant get them to show up in game. I do have them in the my stuff folder and I do have the option enabled in settings.

What am I missing?
