its a thing where you will see it when you load a save thats not the most recent save made.
well, I've figured out the problem now... locale

short summary: I've been playing the EU cia on my JP system, since I had my cart back in sweden. I'm back in sweden now, found my cart. restored save to it.
I've figured out the save transfers fine, it runs in the JP system. but gives corrupt save on my new EU system (got a new 2d xl and system transferred from my EU old 3ds, I can finally get rid of that crap lol)

used luma locale to boot the game with JP/JPN settings and, now it runs fine!

so I'm guessing there is some kind of values in the save files that makes region matter...

sorry to double post but does anyone know if there's a way to modify the saves region info so I can play it on EU/EN instead of having to use JP/JP locale?

Has anyone used the town tree stage modifier and got it working? I remember fiddling with it months ago just after starting a new game but it didn't do anything so I left it. Now with 96hrs played and 76 days logged it's still stuck at stage 3 and using the modifier doesn't change anything.

Edit: Let there be brain. I'm in stage 4 and tried setting it to 4, so never mind all of the above. Great work with the editor btw., much appreciated! :yay:

I've used the "Add All PWP" button, and whenever I add a sign or board, they all get the same custom design when I change one. I can't add different designs to each one.

Will this be fixed/can it be fixed?

Slightly off topic but is there a hack that allows you to insert your own files/pictures from your pc to your acnl game and use them as designs for town flags etc...?

Turn the picture into a pixel type picture (just search "create pixel picture") then upload it to Thulinma (give it a google) and then save and upload to your save via the save editor. It can take a few tries with a pixel editor to get it perfect, but it's possible.

@marc_max Can you please PLEASE remove the TPC pic changer? I already ran into someone with porn on the island and I don't like the idea of New Leaf being full of perverts showing young children these images through that. I know it ain't my business but I have an 8 year old niece and she plays this game and I don't want her seeing that, neither does her parents.
Please don't hate me either, I am just doing this because it's probably for the best.

Hi everyone , I've had these questions on my mind for quiet a period now :

- Since the important acnl update of november 2016, did anyone notice if his villagers are getting sick (suffering in their homes) ? For me, it is been a year now and my villagers were never sick

- After inviting a welcome amiibo villager from the RV's to come live into your town, did anyone ever have this villager trying to leave ? In my case, I've invited Julia (from the welcome Amiibo cards collection), and it is a year now and she never announced that she wanted to leave the town. (Generally, the villagers want to leave after a maximum of 3-4 months)

Those are some observations that I have noticed and I've posted these questions here because i've hacked by using the ACNL Save Editor, and I was wondering if these observations were not some "side effects" of hacking, knowing that the hack uses some failures of the game.

Thanks in advance for those who either confirm these observations or contradict them :)

Ive noticed that none my villagers have gotten sick in the past year or so.

I know that depending on the villager you recruit from RV that they may or may not leave right away. The game does try to balance what types are in town. If you got like 5 or 6 grumpy types and 1 each of other types. You will notice the grumpy types will be more prominent to be the ones to try leaving. Having a perfect town I think reduces chances of anyone wanting to leave.

I can't leave my house once I've imported the edited save. It shows my house and instead of showing me walking out, it makes the "you're walking into an item" noise and reloads the opening scene. Over and over and over. You can't even see my character. It's a never ending loop.
I have NOT moved any houses or map items.
I have NOT edited my house.
I only changed my name, the town name, added a sphinx by the front walkway of the town, not near my house, and put some golden roses out.
When I import the save I get an archive error, but it still loads the save up.

Super appreciate a quick response/fix

Thanks for your answer :).

Your point of view concerning that the system tries to instore a certain equlibrium in the diversity of the villagers natures is a good point and I've also noticed it myself, but still, it is wierd in my case because I have 4 villagers (including Julia) that have a snooty nature, which is also the predominent nature present in my town. Besides, all my other villagers without exception have tried to leave at least once, but Julia (the Welcome Amiibo villager) never....

I'll continue to observe and see.

Anyway, it is conforting to know that it is not only me who noticed that his villagers possess a strong immune system :P, I wonder if this is not a modification incorporated by the major ACNL update.

The safe way to fix your problem is to try undo some of the modifications you've imported by using the Save Editor. I don't think that the golden roses are the problem. Concerning the sphinx, I didn't really understand where you have placed it precisely. Try just to check if its position is not blocking some buildings or NPC buildings (like Redd's tent, special buildings of special days) : in other words, your left and right spaces of the town Plaza, in front of your big town tree must be free and must not be occupied by a Public Work Project. But most of all, I suggest more to undo your modifications in your name and your town's one. I can't remember well, but it seems to me that I've read somewhere that changing the name of a character or the town's name can lead to wierd phenomena in the game. Try that and see if your game still crashes or not. Hope it helps

Not changing my name or the town name fixed the issue.

Follow up Q, is there a way to get rid of Dream Suite once you do the whole fill out town strip code? Cause I didn't realize my town project was the dream suite, and now I cant finish paying for it since the suite is already there. It won't let me start a new project until the dream one is paid off.

Hey, so how do you set a customization for furniture? For example, I want to spawn a dharma, but I want the gold refurbished one, how do I do that? Do I have to do it in-game, or is there a way in the editor? It looks like the "flag" setting allows you to do this, but I'm not sure what number to put to make it gold, and I'm not sure how it would work for other items.

Possible language translation for the villagers' catchphrases when changing villagers? It feels weird having lots of Japanese text and then having "ayyyeee" appear at the end.

If you extract your save you can look at http://www.marcrobledo.com/acnl-editor/ and when you load your save there is a section under villagers to change catchphrases. You can check there to see if the text you want to change can be selected there.

Hi everyone,

I've had a problem with my cartridge of acnl : When I launch the game (in a non CFW 3DS), it crashes few seconds after the 3DS logo : there is the "an error has occured" message and then I'm reoriented towards the 3DS main menu . This problem is obviously due to the use of the save Editor. What I want to do is to reinject a backup savefile, but the problem is that I'm not able to delete/restart the save data in the cartridge : I've tried to press the A , B , X and Y buttons simultaneously, but the fact that the game crashes quickly after launching it, it does not give it the time to have the "delete option screen". So I'm stuck and cannot do anything even using my backups.

My question : is there another way to delete the save data on an ACNL cartridge ? Maybe using the JKSave Manager or other ? (PS : I have another 3DS in CFW, boot9strap and so I have acces to Luma, Homebrew Launcher,...etc)

On the other hand, when the game crashes in my CFW 3DS, there is a black screen message ''An exception occured" with a lot of numbers and it allows me to save a dump crash. This creates a file : crash_dump_00000000.dmp and is located in my SD card : Luma/Dumps/arm11 is there a way to use those files ?

Or maybe another option to remove the "corrupted data" ?

Thanks in advance
