These last two pages have been my favorite since I've returned to GBATemp. Thanks to all the folks who make this shit possible, because if it were up to me or half of the other people on this thread, we probably wouldn't have shit. lmao.

Half? More like 95% of us.

So does this mean I don't have to solder anything even though i'm on the newest fw on my switch.

they're inferring the "short circuit" method with this picture. You can go to any hardware store, buy a snippet of wire, and short the circuits yourself using it. So yeah, basically.
Thank god I don't have to take my switch apart! Just have to hold off tell some cfw comes out!
Hoping we see some breath of the wild mods for switch so i can use for my breath of the wild game!

short them too long, and end up with 'brick' -- waiting for reports of dead switch'es -- there is much better, safer ways, this is just one of dozen possible bugs/exploits, switch is leaking.

  1. Set bit 2 of PMC scratch register zero. On modern firmwares, this requires EL3 or pre-sleep BPMP execution

willing to bet this is the way they plan on doing the software entry after you mod it once physically. you shouldn't need the piece f0f is selling unless you plan on making money off of this. Wire should work just fine for a one time step

also:

Accordingly, ReSwitched anticipates public disclosure of this vulnerability:
  • On June 15th, 2018, whichever comes first.

Its already out.

Its never good to directly 'short' things, on jetson devkit, it is 'button' that is setup to trigger a short one-shot-only very short pulse timed right and with proper voltage protection and levels.

I know the disclosure is out. I linked to it. lmao. I was teasing them by stating that they hadn't intended on releasing it until the 15th, which is well into Summer and may point to a date in which we may see the CFW so long as nothing changes and Scries continues his coding spree.

As for shorting things, I imagine the danger of shorting comes from shorting the incorrect circuits, and not so much shorting the proper circuits for too long. Even then, the software probably has a way of mitigating this problem.

Is it particularly wise to have her name and email publicly displayed on a hacking forum? Sounds like an open attack for another Geohot fiasco (lawsuit).
I wouldn't think so. If anything, Ninty and nVidia should be thanking her for responsibly doing her part. Then again, morality has never been a companies strong suite, so who knows. ^_^

I just can't wait for all the noobs to try this and end up frying their Switch's PCBs

The Jetson TX1 has some debouncing, but ultimately you're just pulling that input low. If you're really concerned you can use a resistor or something, but it's an input that can handle being grounded.
