If you've been hoping for the eleventh mainline Dragon Quest to finally get a release date for its localization, then wait no longer, as Square Enix has revealed that Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age will be coming to the west this fall. The official YouTube account for the franchise even gave us nine minutes of gameplay from the English version, showing the game running on a PlayStation 4, and revealing that the western version will have English voice acting. Additionally, DQXI will be getting a PC port, a first for the series. This is in exchange for Square Enix choosing not to translate the 3DS version of the game. Dragon Quest XI will be launching in North America and Europe on September 4, 2018, for PlayStation 4 and PC. A Switch version is in the works, but Square Enix developers claim they won't be able to release the game any time soon.

More likely they want to test sales in west on more successful platforms first.

I remember a friend telling on on Discord when they announced they were localizing it he felt like 3DS was gonna be skipped lol.

It seems like they already did jump in, but for the Switch version.

I'm guessing the DQMJ3/DQM team will eventually take this on after they finish DQM2.

It'll require 16 GB of RAM, at least a 4.5 GHz CPU (the cores don't matter because it won't use hyperthreading anyway), and a minimum of a GTX 1080. Recommended System requirements still pending.
