The fact that you guys are making another GBA Flashcart after just releasing the Reform makes me a little bitter. What was the point of releasing the Reform if you'd make a better version less than a year afterwards?
Maybe the reform is a low budget product while this one will have a premium price. The fact that you guys are making another GBA Flashcart after just releasing the Reform makes me a little bitter. What was the point of releasing the Reform if you'd make a better version less than a year afterwards?
Seeing as the reform was a slimmed down version of the EZ-Flash IV, the most likely reason was to get rid of leftover parts. But I do not believe that is a bad thing, the EZ-Flash IV/Reform is rather inexpensive, most likely this will be slightly higher priced. It might even make the IV/Reform drop in price further. The fact that you guys are making another GBA Flashcart after just releasing the Reform makes me a little bitter. Perhaps, but I wish they had made that known. I would have waited for the newer version if that had been the case, but as of now, I can't see myself purchasing another flashcart after having just purchased one.Maybe the reform is a low budget product while this one will have a premium price.
And here we see the Osborne effect in action . Announcing this new device with old stock still in their inventory would not be a smart business move.Perhaps, but I wish they had made that known. I get that, but if that's the case then it seems a little dishonest of them. And here we see the Osborne effect in action . Announcing this new device with old stock still in their inventory would not be a smart business move.
I doubt it would cost that much. I'm going to guess that it would be somewhere around $40-$50.I think this new one will cost around $70-80 dollars, maybe it's just to have more ez-flash options, like everdrive x3 x5 and x7 series.
I don't understand. Technology advances every day, new hardware - be it phones, cars, whatever - gets announced every day. Whenever you buy something, there is bound to be a better version eventually.Hmm... even i am dissatisfied of sudden announcement of this new card, just bought a reform (my first gba flash cart) and they announce a newly improved version of the EZ Flash IV, wish they could at least give a bit of hint about it earlier, so could have waited a little longer....

This is their hint now. They are announcing a future product *now*. It is simply impossible to announce a product without making some people feel bad because they just bought the previous model. Plus, you're getting the hardware you paid for. It's not as if your card will stop working once the new product hits the market.
Besides, the EZ-Flash Team is a company. A company needs to be profitable to remain in business. Components are fixed capital that a company needs to be able to use. This new cartridge will certainly use new components, and the EZ-Flash Team needs to get rid of their existing stock of components they can't use in their future product.
We have seen companies in the past announce a new product, people stopped buying the old one in anticipation of the new model, the company ran out of money and the new product was never released. It's simple economics.
Again, you (and me) just having purchased a new reform is not "evil business", it's just bad timing. Bad timing will always happen. But the Reform does just what it says and what you (and I) paid for. Plus, we don't even know *when* this new flash card is getting released.
i am not saying that it's "evil business" , it's true that technology will advance everyday but just consider this that u just bought a recently released cellphone with 3 MP Camera, Music Player and 3.5' VGA screen at a premium price and then just 2 or 3 months later that company revels an android smartphone with 16 MP camera FHD Screen with loads of other features just a little extra than the premium price, then you would feel that if you had known about the new smartphone then you could have waited a little longer and get yourself the amazing new smartphone. that's what i am saying....
And it may take a year or something until the new card hits the shelves. Normally there is a delay between announcements of EZ-Flash and when they hit the stores.
If you're happy with your EZ-Flash Reform, everything is fineas I said I m not against them or anything, I am content with reform and enjoy playing on it.
btw, we don't know a release date yet. Could be a year, could be a month. I assume @Technicmaster0 doesn't know either, he was just pointing out that it could be further away than you might think. All we know is that creating a product takes time. EZ-Flash have not yet announced pricing and availability for this new device, they are, at this point, announcing the device with teasers. We don't know if they are currently still in the prototyping phase or have finished the hardware design and started production already and are now just debuging and improving the software. My guess is that by day 7 we will be told a rough estimate on the release date and pricing.except I didn't knew that it would take the card a year or so to hit the shelves....

Back to the topic: save states look nice. And the cheat function also seems rather robust, I wonder I we can simply use Action Replay codes or if the card will have their own cheat codes. It would also be cool if we were able to search for cheats ourself, it's something I enjoyed a lot as a child on my Xploder for the GB(C). Since we can apparently already bring up an in-game-menu, this might be possible, but I do not know how memory limitations might keep this from happening.
