Tbh, there's not much else besides indies, but they're cheaper everywhere else. I have a ton on the Vita that were free with PS Plus.

There's BotW, of course. Disgaea 5 is perfect on the Switch, but it's not really for small children. Maybe he'd like ARMS.

Well xenoblade chronicels 2 have a conplex storyline. I personally Think it will be really hard to play for kids. They have to understand the conplex fight System etc.
I Think its more for 13+ older

Stardew valley is awesome if you like farming, animalsdas etc. And the game is cheap
But it is Singleplayer and often repetitive.

Well, if you're not limiting yourself to only physical releases:

Rocket League
Blossom Tales
Floor Kids
Celeste
Stardew Valley
Golf Story
Sonic Mania
Either Pinball game

Are all suitable for kids.
The sale just ended, but Blaster Master Zero is another nice digital title. It's not incredibly long or difficult, but still pretty fun. It also has some sort of co-op mode, but I haven't had a chance to try it out and not sure what the extent of player 2's involvement really is.

I recommend Shovel Knight. You can play co op as the difficulty ramps up with the later bosses.

Rayman Legends is also a solid platformer.
