Hello, I have two 3DS's and one of them has this weird problem. It is not hacked at all, running 10.7. When I start it up with an SD card, it says that it is not a recognized SD card. I experimented a little, and tried over 3 SD cards and no success. When I turn on Write Protection, the 3DS says that it is write protected. I tried formatted SD cards and everything I could think of. Warranty is not an option because I have had it for long enough that it can't be sent.

10.7 WTF?

write protection, hmmm... probably youre using old 3ds.

do you use a microsd card with a sd adapter on it? if yes, try replacing that adapter and see if it fixes the issue.

I tried 3 SD cards, one of them being a Micro-SD and the other two being normal 4 GB SD Cards. I tried different adaptors, and none worked. I even went in GodMode9 on my hacked 3DS and put in all the SD cards and all showed up perfectly. Strange problem, as it can tell when I eject the SD card and when I put write-protection on it. This is some strange problem, and hopefully there could be a fix to this.

Thanks for the suggestion, but sadly it did not work. I really hope that the SD card problem could be resolved.

Are you formatting these cards in FAT32 format with 32 KB allocation cluster size?

Is this the message you get?

Mine is an old 3DS, just remove micro and that's exactly what I get. I formatted my SD cards countless times, and I formatted them under 32 KB allocation size.

Okay, we need you to verify that your SD card is in FAT32 format. In Windows (dunno how it works in Mac & Linux) right click your card drive, go to properties, and check that something like this shows up:

I have confirmed that it is FAT32, and I have tested all the SD cards on my other 3DS, and they all work fine. I even tried the SD card I normally use for my other 3DS (which works fine) and I receive the same problem. Also, this problem started out of no-where. Everything was fine, then I went on my 3DS and saw an error.

Okay, just making sure as you didn't explicitly stated they were in FAT32.

Nintendo 3DS SD Board Replacement
If you're comfortable to try this, swap your working 3DS SD reader onto your non-working 3DS to check if it is damaged. Be careful not to use your hands when removing and reinserting the flex cables. Use a electronic tweezer to handle cable and toothpick to flip the lock. If you have regular tweerzers, put clear tape on the edges to soften the edge.

I see... I probably am going to try this, thanks for that link, I'm going to check the procedure and try this if I have enough experience to do this!

1 terabyte sized SD cards do not exist in today's market. There is a 1 TB SDXC SanDisk showcased 2 two years ago at an electronic expo, but they haven't made and sold them to the public because there isn't enough interest from consumers to make it a profitable product.

The largest (and only) micro SDXC card you can buy at 512 GB is made by the company Intergal: https://www.anandtech.com/show/12369/integral-launches-512-gb-microsdxc-card-uhci-u1-class-10

The new largest is 400 GB made by SanDisk: https://www.amazon.com/Sandisk-Ultra-400GB-Adapter-SDSQUAR-400G-GN6MA/dp/B074RNRM2B/

The largest SDXC (as of this time of writing) for standard form SD cards is also 512 GB by PNY, SanDisk, Kingston, and Lexar (to name a few).

Whoever sold you that card ripped you off and you need to get your money back if you still can.

Hey man, don't feel too bad. I hope I didn't give you a hard time. A lot of people get ripped off from SD card sales because of how it is easy something so small and simple gets counterfeited that even pros have a hard time figuring out what is real from the fakes when they look all the same.

For future flash memory purchases, you can check and verify your cards and usb flash drives are real using this program: https://3ds.hacks.guide/h2testw-(windows).html

Also, check my signature for what I believe is a stellar year round deal on a micro SDXC of its size. 200 GB SanDisk for about $50. Don't worry, that one sold there is real because I bought one from that eBay seller. Don't take my word for it should you buy one from him. Use that H2testw to check for yourself!

hey man check this out. this is who i got the 1 tb card from. do you think this is okay or is there something up here. i mean that price compared to other ones on the market is crazy. im just curious because if i can go the cheap route n get away with it then i want to.
