Hi everyone,

I just got a Wii U on 5.5.2 that I hacked by using HaxChi and everything is working perfectly fine however I'm fairly new in this whole Wii U hacking world so I still have some questions that I hope you guys can answer.
If you don't know the answer of every question, feel free to answer the ones you can and I will be very grateful, anyway let's get started :

1. I am using WUP Installer GX2 to install my Wii U backups however each time the install is complete and I tap the "OK" button on the Gamepad, some white dots on a black background appears and the console freeze so I have to hard reboot it. When it get back on again, it gives me a warning that the console was not shut down properly but apart from that the games are working perfectly fine. I am not sure if I want to hard reboot my console each time I install a game because I may damage it so my questions is : is this freeze a normal behavior, like is it supposed to happen ? I should also mention that each time I installed games, I was on CFW because I thought you needed to run HaxChi first before you can launch Homebrew Launcher (but apparently you don't) so maybe that's the reason.

2. When hacking the Wii U, probably due to excitement, I forgot to backup my NAND; is it too late to do it now that I have HaxChi installed ? If not, how do I know which files are the one belonging to the NAND on the SD card so that I can backup them somewhere and delete them from the SD card because from what I understand it can take up a lot of storage.

3. When I launch a game, I always run HaxChi first but from what I have read here on this forum, you don't have to be on CFW to launch backups except for DLC or virtual console. Is that true ? Also, what happen if I launch a NTSC game on my PAL console with or without running HaxChi first ? Will it brick my console ?

4. Last question, I want to install Wii and GameCube backups so I made some research and I read that you can do that on the Wii U but I have seen multiple ways to do so (maybe even outdated ones) with things like hacking the vWii and Nintendont. I am quite a bit lost on that so my questions is what is the most recommended method to run Wii and GameCube backups on the Wii U ? I just want to run backups so nothing like using cheats etc and also I would like, if it's possible, to run them on the same HDD as the one I'm using for my Wii U backups but from what I have read it's not possible so I will probably just put the Wii and GameCube games on a USB stick (if that's even possible to have both Wii U HDD and another USB plugged in a the same time) or the SD card.

Thanks for taking the time to read all my questions and happy gaming folks !

1. I don't know because I've never experienced that before.
2. You can still backup the nand. Follow the noob guide in my signature and skip to the nand backup section.
3. You can't brick your console by trying to load a game that won't load (for whatever reason be it CFW needed or install is from another region etc.) You're correct, you don't need to launch HaxChi first if you are just playing regular games without DLC.
4. There are several ways. The most common is using Wii U USB Helper and then installing with WUP installer. This puts the Wii and GameCube games on the home menu. You will need to launch HaxChi first to play them though. You can also go into vWii and hack that side then use Nintendont.

1- for how long did you wait?
2- You can make a backup
3- eshop games, VC, DLC and some games require cfw
4- use the free method https://gbatemp.net/threads/wuphax-v1-1-hacking-vwii-from-wiiu-mode.446786/

4- use the free method *link*
1. I did wait for like 3-4 minutes but nevermind I just installed another game from Wii U USB Helper instead of FunkiiU and this time the console didn't freeze so I'm just going to use Wii U USB Helper from now on.
2. Alright good, I will do that then just to be safe.
3. So if I understood correctly, you can play NTSC games on a PAL console as long as your are in CFW mode right ?
4. I just tried Wii U USB Helper and it worked perfectly ! Moreover it's so simple to use, just what I was looking for.

Thanks a lot guys for answering my questions, it helped me a lot.

Sorry for the bump but I just found out something that might be useful for someone who is reading this thread in the future.
The console freeze issue after installing games with WUP Installer GX2 happened again even with Wii U USB Helper backups and I finally found out that it only happen if I'm installing more than one game at once, if I only install one single game the console just goes back to the WUP Installer home screen fine without any issues.
