Nah, you can keep your fancy 1080/4k.
Your AA and shadows.
Nothing beats the feel of playing on original hardware.
Besides, the cost of running GCN/Wii games in 4K would be what, 1500+ quid for a desktop?;p
There's only 1 100% cycle accurate emu that I know of and that's Bsnes (or Zsnes, one of the two).

Emulation can be good, don't get me wrong on that.
I use the Xbox emulator on 360 quite a lot due to the 360 controller being superior to the Xbox S and Duke.
But it doesn't beat the good old feel of original hardware.
Well maybe but i have a good computer and i really do have a way better experience on dolphin than on the wii
I have a wii but i don't use it anymore because as i said, the experience is just better on dolphin ^^
and nah even a 700$ PC could 4k dolphin it is well optimised now ^^
But yeah the only console i buy are handhelds (switch included) because i can't carry around my pc, for other consoles i just wait for emulators to come
i'm not that much of a "day 1 gammer" i could wait 10 year to play a game and it will always be cheaper for me

plus you could have the same specs than my pc for 400 bucks now (since it is an high end but from 2012)
and it can easily play wii games in 1080p with all dolphin options at max

Hm fair enough.

Out of curiosity.
What's the recommended specs to run Intensive Wii games on 4K?

well a gtx 960/970 could do it
Though that's useless, i would rather play in 1080p @ 60fps
with all option maxed out

My quad core CPU can run most games at full speed, you don't need an expensive computer at all.
Also, who even cares about cycle accuracy of the thing already works so damn well?

100% compatibility.
No speedhacks, texture glitches n what not.
Dolphin compatibility is already really good by itself, those few speedhacks don't ruin anything and there aren't that many glitches.

If you want a 100% accurate emulator, then of course you need a monster computer. But as I said, Dolphin is already good as it is

Only 100% cycle accurate emulator is Bsnes or Zsnes, one of the two.
That one needed (back when it got 100% accurate) a quite beefy system.

I doubt Dolphin will hit 100% accuracy any time soon.
Perhaps 2025.
Idk yet.

I doubt this thing would be even possible.

If you know how nintendont works, it make sense that it works on wii and wii u, since they have almost similar hardware with only incremental architecture updates on each console.

Switch is a all-new console that is base on a nvidia shield hardware. If there's a gamecube support on switch, it might be a yet-another virtual console emulator kind of thing.

Would be amazing if a 1600 quid new laptop from late 2018 orso would run Dolphin at 1-2 fps lol.

You're starting to remind me of a troll I once met who said that "PC emulators are shit because I can't even run PCSX2 on my ""1080ti and i7""", which is impossible

Only 100% cycle accurate emulator is Bsnes or Zsnes, one of the two.
Bsnes is cycle accurate, but Zsnes? That thing isn't being updated since 2007, it's known to have poor accuracy and it's even banned from TAS due to that.

A long as there is no person as dedicated as @FIX94, there is a slim chance that this will happen.

Thanks for your outstanding work.

Yeah, good luck porting the Dolphin emulator to the Switch. :rofl2:
I'm not the one who'll be porting it but since it's available for Android and since the Switch has nothing but a usual Tegra ARM core built in, I'm pretty sure it will happen (even if it will take years as homebrew on the Switch has just started to get a thing), so your ":rofl2:" is displaced I think. ;)

Nintendont is not a Gamecube emulator - it's a "bridge" which "converts" the GC functions to Wii functions and emulates a few (Disc reads, Memory card, etc.). This is not possible on the Switch obviously.

EDIT: And can we please just wait until the HBL is actually released before we talk about what is possible?

MMM yes I haven't really thought that Nintendon't was using the system GameCube compatibility but what I really thought was 'emulating' the GameCube my bad:lol::lol:

Well let's just hope there is a GameCube vc coming in a few years

It isn't working all that well, maybe if Nintendo does some of their vc magic me might see something, but I doubt it.

Who would like to play Melee with Joy-Cons anyway? I know that anyone can use a GC Adapter but if isn't all that exciting to use it in portable mode
ahem

you know if N doesn't end up making them somebody else will
