PS3 kinda ruined that expectation for me, it's not worth the process of downgrading just to hack the firmware, yadda yadda. Sounds like Nintendo learned their lesson with security, and are really keeping on top of firmware releases, so...yeah, I'm cynical about the whole thing.

I want to be hopeful, I do, I just don't want to get burned.

learned?.... the switch was hacked in 9 months to the point of homebrew being almost released.
i want homebrew much as the next guy on GBAtemp. Nintendo has learned nothing.

I just want homebrew to spite Nintendo for being so damn vague about the VC, what better way to do that than by using emulators for which it never intended to be used with? :creep: I'll keep supporting them through games, but the VC? To hell with that

Thanks to Mission 2000 and the other Members of the Discord Chat here is an tutorial how to build the Snes Emulator.

you need to clone libtransistor, check out the graphics-experimental-fs branch, compile it, compile ace_loader, clone libtransistor-snes9x2010, build it, clone libtransistor-retroarch, copy libretro_switch.a from snes9x2010 into retroarch, make a directory called fs, put your ROM in fs, name it what, build retroarch, launch pegaswitch, launch ace_loader, and use that to launch retroarch

its not made for the simple user still i gonna sit my ass and try it.

Thanks I Updated the post maybe someone can get it working

this has nothing to do with sciresm though and hes doing some thing with the switch to.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

this is impressive because the 3ds took way longer to hack

idk why you doubt the switch will not get hacked over 3.0.0 i mean it won't now but its impressive it was able to be hacked at all this early the 3ds took longer to hack. were early into the systems life there are more exploits to be found but it takes alot of time to find them.

The issue myself (and possibly others) have with the blanket statement of "nothing is unhackable" is because it is trying to prove an infinite (not saying you said this, its the sentiment I get on this board). If you got every developer in the world working on a hack for 3.0.1+, could it be hacked? Of course. But is that realistic? Although there is nothing against people having a glimpse of hope that someday, their FW will be hacked. It's like why some people by lottery tickets...for the dream of what could be.

I'm indifferent to HB. I have emus on my tablets/phone that are pretty well optimized. I do applaud anyone willing to go through the effort with their own time to find exploits and to create software...essentially from scratch.

Terrible analogy.. Winning the lottery vs homebrew on a console?

I'm still on 2.0.0 & I guess I'm just going to wait more because I don't want to update it to 3.0. I'll wait for lower fw capability.

I'm actually genuinely curious as to what people were expecting... It's Nintendo.. Not ONE of their consoles has escaped the eternal hell that is the hacking community..

Of course none have, it's just too bad their lost console took so damn long to get any interest in homebrew development, this time around it looks like quite the opposite.
