--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

If you open the APK file you'll find the same number files as the 3ds version in the assets folder. Use shuffle's unpacker to extract the content from these. IDK the APK is up-to-date or if the mobile version stores small updates elsewhere though.

Well, when I stepped into the scene it was too late for this already. Feel free to try though, I never really investigate the mobile version.
When I drag the files to the program I get that the unknown file could not be extracted, I tried with the 2 programs that you have on GitHub and none of them work for me, what will I have done wrong?

Sorry, I've had a lot of work to do. Are there new features, bugs or something that PSSE can't edit right now even with updated files ?
No new features and no bugs as far as I can see. The only bug is the one I mentioned Last page ago but it doesn't break anything it's just wrong skill names.

However I didn't try anything in the bulk menu. I assume if manual changes saved without an error, then I don't see the reason why anything would be broken in bulk menu.

Here is an unofficial update of the editor. Updated resource folder to be compatible with today's update :)
https://github.com/Madridi7/PSSE/releases/tag/v1.4.34

As usual, back up your save just in case, and use it at your own risk!

Just used this and it's working fine, though I mostly used it to refill my items and put an S-Rank on the new Expert Stage (which is just as insane as the Rapidash Expert Stage).

Thanks for the update and happy holidays!

@supercarotte So I dumped extdata of the newest version and tried the bulk Max Level option, but it doesn't quite work. While practically all UNIQUE owned pokemon got pushed to max levels, the 'variants' don't. By variants I mean things like shinies (for example Shiny Charizard, Shiny Diancie, Shiny Gengar) and various forms of Pikachu. Same holds true for maxing the skill level and in case of shinies, the max mega speedup doesn't work (they don't have their own megastone, but share with the base form, in PSSE they appear as lacking a mega stone)

So I've got an iPad 3 running latest firmware 9.3.5, and LG Android phone (which has an update) and a 3DS with latest firmware 11.6.0.39E.

How and what do I need to do to get this working?

Edit: Should also add here that they are not jail-broken nor do I have Gateway / Homebrew.

Would I need to do this to get it to work and how the heck do I do that as well?

I have tried to do so but either I'm doing something wrong or the instructions are not clear.

This is not for either mobile versions, this is exclusive for the 3DS version, otherwise you are prone for a ban in the mobile version, due to the stricter online environment.

As for the 3DS, you don't specifically need CFW per se, but seeing you have version 11.6 you probably don't have any access to Homebrew, or any save manager for that matter, so I'd advice you get CFW, it's pretty easy, straightforward and has tons of benefits, all you need is in the official guide here:
https://3ds.guide/

Before though, take this into consideration: there isn't currently a completely free way to get CFW, if not with a somewhat complex method, which still requires a Hacked 3DS, the non-free alternatives are quite cheap, averaging at 20 dollars, or soldering. If you do want CFW and Hacks, I'll advise to invest in the 20 dollar solution, it's easy and has great benefits.

Also, there aren't any secret ways to get around this, these are the easiest and most reliable ways to do it, if you aren't willing to invest on those, no hacks can be made.

If you got any questions or wanna chat more, PM me and I'll gladly help you, I'm no expert on the scene, but I'm fairly active most of the time and will gladly help anyone I can. cheers!

Hey thanks for the reply.

Well my 3DS is like 2 months old. I've tried the Sound Homebrew hack but it doesn't seem to work no more.

So if it not necessarily what else do I need to do? How do I just "extract" this savefile.bin thingy that is required?
I've looked in the Pokémon Shuffle folder and it doesn't have any .bin files. *Very confused.*

You would need to be able to launch homebrew somehow and run JKSM or checkpoint to extract the save. Then you would connect to a pc and move the extracted folder and its contents to your pc to use and edit the files your after.

Okay. Cool. I see.

So I need to get Homebrew working first.
I'll try the Sound thing again and a couple of other hacks and see what happens.

If not, is there any other way? Say can I import someone else's savefile into the game for example?

Look like I most likely have to get a Gateway then. Hmmm....

since your on 11.6 there isnt much in way of hacks you can use. Soundhax is patched and somewhat recent hax that have been released have quickly been patched. You would need homebrew to inject someone elses save so that isnt a option. gateway simply will not work on 11.6. and it isnt recommended anyways. You can check the few userland options or look at cfw with ntrboot at https://3ds.guide

Hmmm...is there a way to downgrade the firmware?

It looks like I need to get one of these R4s? Is that correct?
And then from there I need:
-Homebrew
-JKSM
-Pokémon Shuffle Save Editor

Anything else I need?

If you get a flashcard and follow the guide's instructions you'll get what's called a custom firmware (cfw). Basically, cfw > Homebrew and you'd only need Homebrew access to use PSSE but there is no free & easy way to just get Homebrew on 11.6.
So, once you've performed ALL STEPS from the guide, you can install jksm (or another savedata editor) which is an app that allows you to extract, backup and restore all your saves. Use it to extract your save, copy it from your sd card to your PC, use PSSE to edit it then do everything in reverse order.

Okay cool.

So CFW > Homebrew. No homebrew or easy homebrew for new firmware.
Need JKSM or save editor once I have CFW following guide.

Also one last thing, does the PSSE take into account Event Pokémon?
So Pokémon that I got from events or Limited gifts or whatever. Can I edit them?
Similarly, for ones I missed. Can they be edited in or out?

Or does it just work by what you "have" on hand when loading the save editor.
Hope I phrased it properly.

You can edit in any pokemon ever released for the game, as well as edit just about any pokemon, mind you, they can not be edited beyond their limits, that is for example, make a pokemon deal 9999 damage always, etc.

If I understand correctly... it has all you'll ever need, no worries about missing something aside from waiting for the editor to get updated (since new pokemon are added regularly)

Theres a new eshop update for Pokemon Shuffle today... Will PSSE still work after updating the game?
Most of it should still work but you won't be able to edit the new stuff like trainer ranks. Update the resource files and give it a try.
I will update PSSE eventually but I can't work on it before the end of January (school stuff, as usual). In the meantime, feel free to share any information about new addresses or stuff that is broken with the new resource files, they'll help me update PSSE when I get to it.

Back in the days you could use an Homebrew called ctr-httpwn to access the eShop on an old firmware, but I believe Nintendo patched it so it's not possible anymore.
You can still follow the instructions at 3ds.guide to get a cfw, that way you'll always keep your homebrew access while being able to update to the latest firmware.
