So I'm going to install homebrew on my friend's 2DS so I go to the guide and I see DSiWare Save Injection and DSiWare Game Injection. What's the difference between the two? They seem similar apart from some of the initial steps.

You have to do both since there are no more exploitable dsiware games in the eshop.

Basically, you inject an older, hackable dsiware game into a newer, unhackable one. Somehow it works. Then you inject the old game's save as well since that is where the actual exploit code is.
