Hacking NTFS on external with multiman?

I can't find anything consistent on this anywhere. I formatted my external HDD NTFS and I did the USB.CFG (even though I'm told it might not need that anymore)? and it shows up under the Multiman file manager but refuses to show any games. Is there any way around this or is it just a mess? I've done the pfs driver switch whatever and prepNTFS and it refuses to do anything. Webman doesn't seem to either. I've read that I have to have a /ps3iso/ directory, but all my games are in folder format. Regardless, I moved them from /games/ to /ps3iso/ and still nothing is seen.

When I switch it from MMCM to multiman mode it can show the USB drive on the bottom but can't read from it or rip discs to it. When I look at the file manager in Webman, it shows it mounted as dev_NTFS0 but won't show any games on it.

EDIT: To get webman/multiman to read PS3 games on NTFS drives, you need to have them in ISO format instead of folder, and in /PS3ISO/ instead of in /GAMES/ like multiman normally does. You can then use prepNTFS to update your list. If you have webman MOD installed, it will automatically do a prepNTFS on boot.

I need help with this too. I formated my USN to ntfs, created a usb config, and multiman is not reading my drive.

I used this guide for ntsf support but its not working.

I don't know if there's a new method to get NTFS working or if it's still the only way.
what I remember is that the PFS driver wasn't very stable/compatible with all drives.

I also don't remember if it works with multiple partitions. So be sure your drive have only one partition, and that your drive is not using encryption (seagate/WD love to provide program to encrypt their drives, but it works only on windows)

I just got back active here since the new 4.82 hacking method, but haven't tried it yet.

Only one partition and i'm using a 120gb seagate hard drive from 2007. I formatted using Windows 10 default formatter.

Yes thats what I wanna use it for to install ps2 games bigger than 4gb.

to do the split file method, first you need your full iso game on PC.
use one of the splitters to cut your files in multiple .666 files
put them all on your fat32 external drives
mount your partition in multiman file explorer
choose "copy to internal", and it will be unsplit automatically.

in my guide, I provided few splitters names. I don't know if the links are still good, I didn't check that for a long time.

I dont need the splitters for full iso game at all. Yes I am using NTFS on external hard drive running in WebMAN MOD and make sure cobra is enable to do that. The ISO are better than PS3 folders. By the way, my PS3 is running Rebug CFW. Loved Rebug for over 6 years.

I have a PS2ISO folder on the root of my ntsf, ps2 games in iso format and nothing is showing up on webman. I have cobra too.

It's okay! Evidently, NTFS only supports ISO format and you have to have a proper USB.CFG in the multiman folder, at which point webman and multiman can both see them fine. It seems to work fine with my hard drive but ISO is just a little inconvenient. Unfortunately, I have a 2TB external and 120GB internal so I'm tryin gto keep as much off of the internal as I can.

the USB CFG has to be your Vendor ID and PID, then volume seperated by colons.
For example, 0x0000:0x0000:1 is all you should have in your USB CFG. Then you should restart Multiman.

To get it, go to device manager, find your USB hard drive, go to properties>details and drop down to parent.

multiman can't view any games in folder format on NTFS drives. Make sure your PS3 games are in ISO format and in the /PS3ISO/ folder instead. You should be able to find your drive in the multiman file browser if you go to pfs driver and look for usb_pvd.

Im trying to view ps2 iso but it just gets stuck on a never ending loading loop.

Ok so I was able to use iris man to copy to internal ps3 hdd for external usb, and now ps2 game runs fine.
Now I gotta figure out how to run them off of external.

I prefer webMAN MOD over Irish. To make it easier.. Make sure webMAN MOD and Cobra are the latest update and you will need PrepNTFS to scan NTFS external hard drive first then your webMAN MOD's game list should show up. I dont use USB CFG at all. You dont need it.
