Hacking PS3 4.81 exploit to be released by Christmas

I was just about to sell my ps3. I dunno if something comes up, I just might hold onto it, I hear you can play any ps2 title on slim, so there's that.

No. That wasnt a problem of thermal paste, I'm not retarded

It's the paste UNDER both ihs not ontop
But removing them without damaging the die's is not for the amateur.

wow....I literally just coughed up $80 bucks to have a guy downgrade my new gamestop refurb 2 weeks ago since I misplaced my E3 flasher many moons ago

You told him to remove both ihs's and change the paste on the die's?
Go into webman > settings
Scroll halfway down
Turn off fan control
Scroll to bottom
Click save
Click the word Here
Once restarted go into webman
Top of screen take note of the temps
Wait 5 min
Take note again
Post the results

Yes, they offered me to do that. I can't acces my PS3 right now but I can try next weekend, thanks for helping ;)

I'm only interested if things can be installed to a hard drive or loaded from USB. At this point in the PS3 life cycle, it's a matter of convenience as opposed to cost. With the PSN Flash Sales and the current market for used PS3 titles most games (unless they are rare titles) can be had for very little cost. PS2 compatibility is much higher on my list of wants so I can officially retire my FAT PS2.

Then get a phat or slim model CECH-2
NOT a CECH-3 / CECH-4
and if you get a CECH-25 check it can be downgraded
Then you can use this to install cfw

If you have a none downgradable CECH-25 /CECH-3 / CECH-4 then your going to have to wait that little bit longer for anything more than psn game injection

So my situation is that I have a Slim 2500 that can go down to 3.50 and a SuperSlim that I bought as a backup should the old beast fail. The thing to do it seems, is to deactivate the 2500 and use the SuperSlim OFW for PSN.

I looked through the guides and there is none that explains how to transfer everything from one PS3 to the other without having to upgrade / circumvent PSN and have everything working. Based on the statements it's very low risk to upgrade to 4.82 and perform the deactivation / transfer / activation using the Transfer Tool and an ethernet cable. The 2500 (for which I got the IDPS ages ago) can sit until it's downgradable in March 2018 or so, while the SuperSlim is the main system that can go to any OFW.

Does anyone see a problem with this (other than the low risk of something being missed in 4.82)?
 
My PS3 is downgradable up until 3.56
Will this exploit allow me to get CFW running on my PS3, or will I have to wait for another one?
