Hacking sky3ds+ cards not playing when old sky3ds+ does?!?!?!

Hello everyone. I hope someone out there can explain something to me.

I have an old sky3ds+ card - with the place space, planet sticker. It plays everything imaginable with a EUR region.

I then bought four more for my children. These cards are the new style Sky3ds+ cards with the pinky/red planet and spaceship sticker. Which does not play a lot!

I have tried swapping micro sd cards from one card to the next as they are all exactly the same and have identical contents including all firmware etc.

All games play on the older sky3ds card but not on the new ones.

Can anyone help explain this? All cards are genuine (not fakes) and have been set up idenically. So why does the older card work where the newer does not?

Any help you give will make four children very happy

perhaps you are doing it wrong
the old + version with the blue button needed the sky3ds-writer program to add things to the sd card
while the new + version orange button is drag and drop

yeah I had to redo my micro sd card when I upgraded, as nothing would work with a straight swap, heck even tried to back up saves to transfer over using the writer program and no go, so in the end started from scratch with + cart, did take a few attempts to get card formatted and setup before it would see games, but every game on old cart plays fine on new one once the micro sd is setup ok

No, both sky3ds cards have two orange buttons, they are pretty much that same apart from the stickers which have slightly different images.

The games and fireware are identical, copied from the same source. All games work on the older of the cards, 90% work on the new model. The most upsetting is ultra sun and ultra moon, which only work on older card.

I've swapped the micro sd cards around and it's only the older of the cards that load all of the games and I don't know why. All cards are genuine sky3ds+ cards and have orange buttons to circle through games but the sun and moon on the newer cards just display an empty card image on the 3ds.

Looking though other forums others have this issue but no one has an answer

Have you considered sending them back to where you bought them and installing CFW on your children's consoles? You'll only need 1 $20 DS flashcart instead of lots of $80 Sky3DS carts which don't even seem to work for you...

i was hoping for some thing quick and easy to do, not do anyhting complicated to the gameboys. I just don't understand why one wrks and the other doesn't.

Sounds like it would be more complicated getting the Sky3DS working tbh

have you recently installed cfw ?. . . i mean back in the day a would have agreed with you (or at least respected that decision . . . ) but the scene has advanced so much that a 8yr old could do it . . . so its not complex (...possibly confusing but not complex) . . .

modding consoles can be a pain....

but CFW on a 3DS is so easy and so worth it. Its worth checking into. like flashing new firmwire on a phone

There is no + version with a blue button. The SKY3DS+ has a double orange button. If it has a double blue button it's the second SKY3DS. Compatibility with this one will be limited on latest game.

i know this but some sites listed the blue button revision as plus (back before sky announced that they would release a sky3ds+[orange button]) in order to distinguish it from the original red button version . . . also i was not aware there were two different stickers for the + version

can you ad pics of the carts, are you 100% sure you have purchased them from a legit reseller and theyre not fakes.

if the cards are the same version, what firmware are each of the consoles.

I wasn't either. It looks like they also changed their domain name to sky3dsplus.net, at first I thought it might be a clone judging by that but it doesn't seem that way.
Also, according to domain whois sky3ds.com is owned by Nintendo of America. What the hell????

perhaps they bought it to stick a big old 404 there . . . you know america and the internet "masters of the universe ... bla bla bla"(. . . or america and anything for that matter)

it would matter is some cheap china company is making knock off clones that erm..... do not work properly.

its possible but unlikely (as i am trying to say) pricey flashcards are not often cloned though they are bought out and re-branded then resold in the 3ds era it happened to both gateway and sky (gateway is the only expansive flashcard i can name that was an sort of exception as it had actual clones as well) but that is not to say its not possible i just dont find it likely . . . although with them supposedly joining forces with gateway (. . . and as such also abandoning there current fan base . . . btw where is my stargate?) i can totally see them secretly pushing a more "limited" version of there own product . . . after all they want to punish there costumers by making them buy their overpriced product over and over again so i would suspect it to be totally legit (and totally lame) rather than a clone

sky3ds had clones, they even documented it on their website how to identify them.

This may be an obvious question but have you updated firmware on your new cards? Even with new stickers they still ship them with old firmware.
If they're on latest firmware then try acekard2i paper fix.
