I will be getting a 2DS pretty soon and was thinking of investing in a flashcart for it to play backups.

My question is, which cart would be the best option? Where would be a good place to order one? I have heard good things about the R4. Is there a cart that can play 3DS games as well as DS games, or would I have to buy a seperate cart for DS backups?

I mostly want it to play Pokemon X, Sun, and Super Smash Bros.

Thanks for the help, from what I read on that link it appears the R4i 3DS only supports DS games and not 3DS games. So if I wanted to use my cart to play 3DS titles I would be better to go for a EZflash redux or Sky3ds+? Is that correct?

I had an M3 DS Real I used on my old DS Lite to play DS and GBA titles, so I've pretty much played every single one of those games by now. I was hoping to get a flashcart for my 2DS that I can use to play 3DS backups.

Sky3DS+ is pretty much the only option. Though CFW is generally considered the preferred method.

How did you use the DS Real to play GBA roms out if interest? Mine will only play DS roms.

the scene has advanced, you only need a ds flashcard to install cfw on your 3ds. ds flashcards dont support 3ds roms (and dont need to) cfw will allow you to install 3ds roms (in .cia format) directly on your 3ds and all you need to instal cfw is a 20 usd flashcard R4i-SDHC 3DS RTS , R4i Gold 3DS RTS , R4iSDHC GOLD Pro 20XX , R4iSDHC RTS LITE 20XX

Flashcarts made to work only for ds played gba roms.
What? The M3 Real couldn't play GBA games on it's own (expect using the eh, GBA emulator.) It requires a slot-2 device for proper GBA emulation. I would know, I used to be an M3 Real user.
That being said, I wouldn't suggest any 3DS flashcart for 3DS games. You are basically paying a stupidly high price for something you can accomplish with a CFW. I would suggest an R4i Gold to get you started with NTRBoot. Then using The Guild to setting up a CFW for your 3DS.
This method is a lot cheaper and accomplishes a lot more than something like a Sky3DS could do.

You didn't read very carefully.

That second link I gave you shows you how to use the product on the 1st link to use ntrboot.
ntrboot is a 3ds exploit (using a ds flashcart) that installs cfw to your system allowing you to play 3ds games.

two birds with one stone: ds games and 3ds games with a single flashcart. exactly what you asked for.

rather than a 3ds flashcard aka Sky3DS+.
buy a nds flashcard (R4i Gold 3DS RTS), flash NTRBoot on it. Hack your 3DS and install B9S and CFW. you can restore your R4 afterwards. and install 3DS games on your sd and use your R4 for NDS games. its cheaper and better. you can even install Splashscreens, Customthemes, NTR cheatplugins..and more

Sky3DS is NOT the only 3DS flashcard for 3ds mode. But seriously, do just get the R4i Gold RTS and use CFW..

No they did not. A FEW DS flashcards had on board proccessors that aided GBA emulation. But it's not great. Most "DS ONLY" flashcards could only serve roms to the secondary slot 2 cart like the EZ 3 in 1.

You can wait for little while until 'STARGATE 3DS' is released. It can play both 3DS games and DS game and it is NTRboothax compatible....

I honestly suggest no one get that cart. The fact that the Gateway team delayed it this long should be a red flag.

So you'll be paying $100 for something you can do with $20 and not using any of the features that cost the extra.

WTF WHY? didn"t you read? ANY cart that plays 3DS roms is a minimum of $60. Plus most of them don't play NDS roms. GET AN R4i GOLD RTS $20 shipped from the sponsor on the page you are reading this. Then you can:

  • install B9S using NTRBOOT and run LUMA!!!!!
  • KEEP the R4i GOLD RTS in your slot always having NDS roms available
  • Use Freeshop or FBI/QR CODES and DOWNLOAD games directly on the console!
  • GET a HUGE SD for your internal 3DS to store all the games you put on there. No need for shitty 3DS flashcart!
AND YOU CAN GET aA BIGGER SD, SOME BEER,WEED, CANDY,MOVIE TICKETS OR WHATEVER YOU WOULD BUY WITH THE ADDITIONAL $50!! IT'S A NO BRAINER!

Don't get a Sky+ or whatever because its overpriced and unnecessary. Fuck the politics. Gate hate is fucking lame. No more. Enough is enough. My GW system still can do a few things my non GW systems can't. Stop it.We don't care. But definitely don't buy the Sky+ BS edition thing.

Stargate 3DS is dumb...i mean...who da fck would buy this...65 Euro for a card that plays NDS and 3DS roms....that dumb thing is it has NTRBoot support (it is dumb because you pay so much and can hack the console with it) ...a flashcard that can play 3DS and NDS roms and cann hack your 3DS to get CFW...which can install CIA on console....get an R4i Gold RTS and hack your console with that...use the R4i afterwards for NDS rom..costs only 20 USD (18 Euro)...better than 65 Euro (75 USD?) for the shitty Starfck 3DS

P.S: should i change my avatarpic... can i use such avatarpics (i mean ecchistuff) or can i get a problem here.?
