Thanks for the quick response. Just so I understand, so if I only have US NTSC ROMs, I should be able to play them on the EU SNES Mini yes?

The majority of US SNES game ROMs will work on an EU SNES Mini - the built in games are US SNES game ROMs. Early on, some US games which didn't work, did work after some clever people tweaked the ROM header/footer with a hex editor. Some games still won't work, but hopefully, the more time that passes, the more games will be playable in Canoe (the built in SNES Mini emulator). People have started putting together a spreadsheet to list all the tested US/JPN/EU ROMs. Again, I'd post the link, but I'm a newbie so can't, so search this thread for "compatibility" and look for the link in the post from SWChris, that works.

For the games that do not work in Canoe, there's a good chance, they'll work in Retroarch, an "unofficial" emulator. If you search this thread for "guide" and visit the link posted by kongsnutz - haytch tee tee pee colon forward slash forward slash hakchiguide dot com, it'll provide a written guide to Hakchi2 and Retroarch. There are likely lots of guides in video form if you prefer that, on YouTube.

SNES Classic dual boot v.03 using the .hmod not the hsqs method, does anyone know how to make the hide thumbnail.hmod work on the nes menu? I Manually edited the nes.json file to change all the items to 0,0,0,0 that are in the .hmod but unfortunately it did not change anything. so I am assumeing it is something else in the preinit.d folder I need to change maybe any ideas?

Anyone interested about enabling classic demo mode in nes and/or snes? I'm triying it via ftp unlucky. All you need is create an autosave file within the folders games.

SNES Classic dual boot v.03 using the .hmod not the hsqs method,
on reddit was a discussion because hsqs and there was the answer that with that the booting of the nes tooks around 15 second.
thats longer as the methode now.
and the methode what now is use make it easier to add games to the mini nes dual boot and no using a ftp

@KMFDManic Any chance you could make a video tutorial on having separate controller inputs for different consoles in RetroArch? If I boot up a GBA game (such as Megaman & Bass) after playing a SNES game, the B button fires and A button jumps, and this is not ideal. Y button should fire and B should jump. But if I change the inputs, then the next time I play a SNES game, the button inputs need to be changed again. I'd like to have separate controller inputs for both systems.
You need to save the core mapping for that games core only

Retroarch is not an emulator

Thanks ! Great work !
Where can we found the NES ARTWORK for the folders ? Plz.

Thank you

Hello... Can you also provide a working link for NES holder art? @8bit4life Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your reply @8bit4life but we are looking for your last NES ARTWORK for the folders ? ;)
This one :
I posted this in the main Hakchi2 thread however it might get lost among all of the help regarding the software. I created the various artwork to be used with Hakchi2 as opposed to the generic folders, I'm only using the NTSC FULL licensed ONLY Library. I split all equally to 30 games on the option. I believe it's about +/- 670 games...

can you post your commandline for this game ? thx for testing !

OK. So I thought that I was using --retroarch on RnR Racing... my command line actually looks like this - /bin/snes /usr/share/games/CLV-U-TZNJK/Rock_N__Roll_Racing.sfrom.7z
I only have snes9x2010 installed and this must have been done early in the versions... I dunno at which point this line became different from the others, though...

Quick Settings, "Save Core" or "Save Game" Configuration, apply, then it usually sticks for several of the Cores:) But, I can still do a video, if need be! This also helps with Video Resolutions, that you want to stay a certain way!

Thanks, this was helpful, but I tried adding "_km_mame2003_7_21_17.hmod" as module, but still get black screen and return to menu with the DonPachi I'm trying to run...

Don Pachi may better run with MAME 2010, or FBA 2012, than MAME 2003. And, command line, once game is added for MAME 2010, should be /bin/mame2010 For FBA 2012, /bin/fba

Good luck! Let me know if you still have issues. You may also have the incorrect rom set.

Apparently Super Street Fighter 2 has an issue (-click-) that can be fixed with Ctrl+Alt+E and filling zeroes in every field. However, nothing happens when I enter Ctrl+Alt+E while selecting SSF2. For some reason it works when other games are selected so what gives?

Anyone that can share Dual boot hmod for euro snes mini? I can't install java on this computer at work so I can't follow the guide for making the file myself.....

On the compatibility list, when it is said that the games are working, can I assume that, when they're not patched by Cluster nor present on the Preset ID list, their preset ID is 0x0000 0x00 ?
Is it sure that they are working? I read here and there that some added games would freeze using canoe during gameplay.

It's not a rom..it's an hmod..big difference.

His workplace probably has disabled any java installation on their computer system, as sometimes you download a bad copy of java with viruses or malware in them.

A hard mod will enable extra memory via SD card, im certain one will come a long
we hope that it comes because GBs of space

wrong info!
in the dual boot hmod are roms from the mini nes in it!
the original 30games in .nes rom format!
roms links are not allowed to post it in the forum (pn eher schon).
when the original games are delete then a hmod download can be post. ^^

java from the java site has no virus in it.
has you no pc at home?

what are the real differences between 2.20 and 2.21b ? The only difference that I can see is that 2.21b has ???mb instead of 300mb like 2.20 has.

Its not a big difference. The reason sharing Roms in here is not allowed is due to copyright. The firmware of the NES classic is also copyrighted, whether or not it contains Roms.

The Roms are not the issue. Copyright is.

Also, maybe you shouldn't use (or encourage the use) of company equipment to do things that could be categorized as Grey area.

thats not the difference!
the display only show the right free space when it is connect to the mini snes.
in 2.21b are the original games in a read only nand and dont take free space from where you install your games.
you never had 300mb free on the mini snes.
and the saves and rewind take memory from the free space
