I sort of need a sound recording app that records the inputs from the 3DS's mic without stopping at 10 seconds (which is what the normal recording does). Basically to record for long periods of time. Are there any existing apps that can do such a thing? Only did a relatively quick search but only found for regular DS... I'm on Luma 8.0 btw and simply am interested in whether there is already an existing one. I have no intention of making one, too busy, otherwise I would just make one myself.

I'm not sure about any 3ds Homebrew that do this, however, twloader can be used alongside the first version of nds bootstrap (versions afterwards will not work) to run nds Homebrew applications on a 3ds. Try and see if that works.

I sort of need to be able to use NTR CFW though while running the app I'm looking for, meaning twloader is not an option... What I basically want to do is use my 3DS to record sound in place of my computer mic and I would like to be able to record and use FTP to transfer the recording directly to my computer with as little delay as possible. With twloader I can do it, but will take considerably longer in the long run, beating the purpose I'm trying to achieve.

So you wana record your voice with an app on the 3ds, while its streaming video to a computer? (you'd only be streaming the voice recording program?) unless you're also try to be playing a game at the same time?
In which case you'd need the mic running. On top of ntrcfw, both streaming to a pc and playing a game.

I'm prepared to put my foot in my mouth but this is beyond impossible

So you're doing something on your computer that you'd like to commentate live? You don't need to do the bolded part; just sync the audio in an editor. If you don't have one, I could give you a good recommendation as I'm sure others around here could.

Have a look at this.
Thanks, code looks like it would work, but I have no way to compile C scripts at this point in time. Will keep it though for when I can.

Desktop PCs don't come with mics, so that's what's most likely happening.
It's actually more like that all my mics are being stupid in the sense that even with tons of padding all over the place and pillows/blankets too there's a LOT of noise no matter what I do about the settings, while the only one setting I've found to work makes my voice much deeper when it's already really deep, resulting in the sound gate not picking it up...

I never said anything about playing a game on the 3DS, did I? I simply said NTR and according to what I said, NTR running the homebrew that allows free sound recording.

Just to be clear because a lot of people assume or are confused, I don't want to use the 3DS mic as a desktop mic per se, but something relatively close to that. This means I don't care about direct feed, just it recording sound for more than 10 seconds will suit what I'm trying to do, thus the original post! I just need a mic that doesn't have insane noise like my PC ones, to compare with the ones I'm using on the PC at first, then place it around the room while I'm recording to see how the sound bounces off with the padding, so I can improve it. The NTR part is just so I can transfer that recording to my computer faster than recording, taking out the SD card, moving the recording to my computer, then putting it back in the 3DS and recording again only to repeat the SD card thing for 30 or so 10 minute recordings! I need to compare the sound after each one, so I'm trying to cut the time down if possible. No need to bother if there's nothing out there that can already do this...

Ntr doesnt allow sound recording though. The only way to do that is to hook the 3ds up to an aux cable connected to a pc.

The NTR isn't for the sound recording part, it's for the script that will allow me to move the recording fast to my computer. Don't bother looking into it more, just stick to what I said I'm looking for since this is getting a bit out of hand...

What I'm looking for that you only should think about when replying: A homebrew that can record using the 3DS mic without a limit (stock app has 10 seconds recording time as limit). That's all! If there's one that exists and can do it other than twloader or DS-mode ones, then let me know.

Im suggesting the fact that you can use it with twloader if you have an aux cable as well. There are reasons to reply besides finding the correct homebrew.

I don't have an aux cable though and can't get one where I am now until the winter holidays, otherwise I would already be doing that.:P And I know that there are other reasons, but I would prefer a simple quick reply since this isn't a request for something to be developed but rather asking if something exists that fits my requirements... If it doesn't, I'll use twloader and transfer with a SD card reader manually, but simply want to know for better ways.

cant honestly say i've come across one but.. and i have hardly Ever used the 3DS's Mic for anything, but if its anything like the DSi's, isnt it going to be Quite shite in comparison? correct me if i'm wrong but OP, hope you do find what your looking for though!

The 3DS mic may be a bad mic in general, but it's surprisingly good if you also have padding in the room for the noise like I do, plus only need it so I record how the sound bounces off. As it's REALLY sensitive to noise, it's great for using it in such a way.

You wana see how the sounds bounces off walls with a 3ds. You sir are a madman. I will donate to your buy me a microphone fund.
No need to bother, my PC mic is that of a gaming Razer headset that cost over 100€ and it's absolute garbage, here it's next to impossible to find a mic under 300€ that's any good unfortunately, even though you can find one of those REALLY old, very thin ones from the win 95 computers if you look for it and it's surprisingly better than most expensive ones!:rofl2: If I want a new mic I'll just make one myself, I just want to improve what I got for now, that's all.
