Here you go, unzip this and drag the retroborders.hmod into hakchi.

You will be able to use some of the borders (non-animated) in retroarch games with scanlines (CRT filter). - For SNESC

NOTE: If your screens aren't centered already, adjust and stretch them in retroarch, save configuration and exit retroarch from the menu to actually save it.

This is awesome. But I don't like the CRT filter. Please tell me where to deactivate it in retroarch. I can't find this option.

Yeah I know, but why does it save space when I uncheck them? When I uncheck all 21 Games on the SNES Mini I get 80MB more free space.
That's in the writeable partition. The original games are copied to the writeable partition, in part of a duplicate file system with some modifications, which is then mounted over the original, read-only partition.
TL;DR: Linux is magical

I don't have an SNES yet, but just in preparation, this new Hakchi 2.20 works for the SNES mini, right ? if that's so, how many new roms can you put on the system ? How many per folder ?

Well this hack above is a color palette hack somebody made to change several colors in stages.
This hack won't do anything else.
If the japanese version of SSF2 works, then the US version should also work.
Also everybody can also use the jp version anyway.
The only difference are the 3 names
Vega
Balrog
M.Bison

The only thing that prevents the US version to run is propably something in the rom header.
Super Street Fighter 2 (U) will work on next version :)

Cool, is there a way in a future update to reduce the file size of the save states, maybe by disabling the rewind feature? 2mb per save is a lot.
Try to reduce rewind time in command line. Also it's possible to compress save-states in theory... Plus there is unused partition in /dev/nandd which can be used for save-states. In theory.

It says on the github instructions to download, run, and then follow instructions.
I can't find these instructions.
*facepalm* %)

Sorry that I can't answer everybody. Too many messages.

Take your time, it's okay

You hook up the Snes Mini to USB
Go to kernel - Dump
Follow the on-screen instructions
Install drivers
Flash custom kernel once original kernel is dumped
Sync games to Snes Mini

Fine, I won't deny that I worry to much, okay? Does that make you happy to see me admit it? Second, this was a nightmare to get, I had to wait four hours in line at Walmart to get this on launch day, and 80 dollars plus tax, not something I can easily afford given my financial situation. And lastly, how does using the rest/power buttons not shorten the lifespan of the spring-loaded mechanisms? I just wish there was a way to internally update the console when you switch Hackchi, that's all.

If most SNES switches have lived past 25 years I'm sure your SNES classic will be fine. I mean, I repair tons of console and having modded my SNESClassic internally, I can tell you the switches are nothing to worry about.

Okay... so for some reason, I try to do this, but it does not detect it. I hit install drivers, and that also does not detect it. The light does not turn on even when I turn it on normally. Do I need to have it hooked to a tv while doing this?

I wasn't sure, admittedly, if they were 1:1 exactly the same, and it turns out they are. That being said, I'll stick to the 2.20 build I used as the games I installed work like a charm, but I'll keep myself posted on what new features will be implemented. My apologies.

No, you don't, but you have to use the original USB cable, and I hope you're on Windows 7 or Windows 10, as there's no Mac OS support. Be sure it's turned completely off, and in the Hackchi folder, there is a Drivers folder, you may have to manually install them that way. If that doesn't work, then I don't know.

how to import the battery backed SRAM from my pc to the snes mini? Can I use an .srm file?

Please be patient, there's no need to ask multiple times.
