Considering that we can do VC injections on the Nintendo 3DS to run games that are not on the eShop, I don't see why we can't do something similar here with Hakchi2.

The bad thing about is it still limits the number of games you can actually have on the system. Since you can't have two games with the same heading both on the console as far as I know...? Also there are a limited number of valid 'headers' that VC was designed to 'detect' and allow. For copyright/protection issue.

And not every game was 'injectable'.

Awesome! ^_^ That's the injection I'm waiting for the most, and yeah? Keep up the good work :P

Agreed, as-is, the emulator's not too shabby, what with SuperFX/SuperFX-2 (GSU-1) emulation, most games should run just fine.

As of now the only specific reason to use Retroarch is probably for the megaman X2 and X3? Because of the Cx4 chip? Any other chipsets we should be aware of?

Of course there is also possibly challenge of emulating Super 3D Noah's Ark? Bypass any copy protection assuming SNES emulator has the copy protection for unlicensed roms?

S-DD1, OBC-1, SPC7110, but these are very obscure and only used in a small selection of games. I don't know if the official emulator has Cx4 code or not, only way to find out is when the games are injected. If I can keep it all to one Snes emulator, I will, much cleaner that way. I'm more curious to see if Chrono Trigger has the properly emulated Lavos scream; only two emulators get it right, Higan and Snes9x.

Just be patient !

And you have 21 games to finish LOL
One of those being Super Mario RPG, which I know will take ages.
I finally understood the format of SNESMini's ROMs. It's the same as WiiU Virtual Console.

IT'S HAPPENING
No, there is too many work. I need a week, I think.
Take your time, we understand.
No, I'll create converter for "normal" SNES ROMs.
So does this mean that it won't be a 1-click process to add SNES ROMs to the Classic Edition or..?

Nice work dude!!! I can't wait to load my dumps on it. When do you think you'll release the new version? (because i bought a second SNES Classic for my friend for his birthday. He gave me some dumps to put on, but to his birthday there are only 3 days left)

He posted above, at least a week or so.

Good to know, if it doesn't do it well enough on the Nintendo's emulator, I'll definitely use Snes9x core...

S-DD1 We'll need emulation of that for Star Ocean at least (I believe that's been translated).. But some people might want Street Fighter Alpha 2.

S-RTC

Daikaijyuu Monogatari

The game has been translated... However RTC will be an issue considering that there is probably no RTC on the SNES Mini?

https://www.romhacking.net/translations/2339/

SPC7110
Tengai Makyou Zero still in works of being translated into English I think? Looks interesting.

DSP 2-4?

DUngeon Master, Top Gear 3000, and Japanese Gundam game....

OBC-1

Used in a light shooter game? Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge... I don't think there is a way to play it with just the gamepads? So unfortunately wouldn't be playable anyways.

Again, a very small, obscure list of games most people will probably ignore. I just hope Chrono Trigger has the same sound emulation as Snes9x, as it uses Blargg's S-SMP core. In due time though :P S-DD1 would be nice.

Star Ocean is actually pretty popular. But its emulated in Snes9x I believe, most of these games are I believe. The only one that might be an issue is the RTC of course.

Yeah, Star Ocean is perfectly emulated on Snes9x 1.54.1 (Zsnes, not so much). RTC, never played any of those really lesser known chips; but all things considered, it does a good job on the Snes Classic.

12 MB ROM size may be too much for it though.

So how many games can unofficially added?
So how many games can unofficially added?
According to KMFDManic, the specialist : "It will not be all that much different than the NES Classic. You will get the 260-300 Mb or so to work with. Games should be able to be added and compress to 7zip format, using RetroArch. But, the default emulator that comes with the SNES Classic, will probably not work with compression. So, games would take up nearly twice as much size. So, basically 150 games or so if compressed, half that if non-compressed. We will get things going within the next week or few, for sure!" Rgs.

Wait so retroarch can replace the internal emulator?

Personally adding 150 games is more than, you just won't have the full romset

To be fair, there is only like 150-odd SNES games worth playing other than these 21 that are included.
(And arguably a lot of them are multi-platform ontop)

My SNES folder is ready. 156 roms to add. 182mb in size.
