Hey snes mini, I hurd you like roms so I put a rom in a rom so you can play roms in your roms
I know it's a weird thought, but I don't see why it wouldn't work, if the original hardware could run a gameboy game (I don't believe they put any extra processing power or whatever into the Super Gameboy cartridge) then you should be able to emulate that as well, right?

Nevermind, it's pretty much a gameboy in a cartridge, I didn't think you could buy one cheap if they did that, but I was wrong!

My list of games I want to add....

It’s theoretically possible to emulate the super gameboy emulating another game. At least one SNES pc emulator does already. However it would definitely take some processing power to be emulating that much. It would probably have to be added into the mini as a separate emulator.

So there is a secret reset code... Using L + R + Start + Select.

Game reset, but not reset to menu.

I have an 8bitdo controller that has the retro receiver that was made for NES Classic. 8bitdo just released new firmware so that the receiver would be compatible with SNES. Now it's down and select and it brings you back to main menu on SNES Classic.

@Cluster I sent you the kernel from a US SNES Classic. Couldn't dump the nand or nand-b because I received an error.

I'm back in this thread & was one of the original supporters while hakchi was making progress etc... with the anticipation of the SNES Mini to get the hakchi2 treatment. I saw a quick youtube video of @Cluster adding what looked like Lion King... I'm really stoked I don't have a SNES Mini yet I'd really like to snag one to go next to my NESC, my question to those who already have one what's the capacity of the SNES mini ? I'm only looking to have just the NTSC games which a folder of the .ROMs as .ZIP files seem to be about 588mb at around 720+/- games ? HOPE They can all fit / are compatible... and damn I freakin' need to find a SNES mini I refuse to pay inflated eBay prices. I totally forgot to pre-order one. Side note I really hope the N64 Mini will follow, it's a cash grab for Nintendo please yes and thank you !

We have roughly 300 MB to work with. Maybe can add all with compression? Not sure yet. Just have to let Cluster do his thing and take his time.

Just like with mini nes you'll be able to install retroarch and run Gameboy natively. No need for super gameboy.
I want it to be able to do more than just that, so I'm either keeping it stock with some added games, or if it can dualboot I'll do that.

One thing if you mod your mini snes you might slow down the original games so I want a review on it before it's public.

Compression would mean needing to use RetroArch and snes9x. I don't think that's a good idea considering Nintendo's emulator appears to be superior, since it can handle SuperFX no problem.

I would love someone to reverse-engineer the code and have RetroArch SNES emulators get updated with better Super FX 2 chip and better sound support.

The reason why people want super gameboy compatibility is for the special games that take advantage of of and access to it with full color, special color palletes, or own special borders some which interact with said Games.

Like Donkey Kong for example or space invaders.

So far there is only one or two PC emulators which can handle it but as I mentioned it has high emulation requirements even still it’s not perfect emulation slow downs and sound issues.

Last edited by Baggins,
I had a super gameboy. I loved it. My parents bought me a gameboy for my birthday when it first came out, but ended up liking it and playing it so much that it had lines on the screen, so they bought me another one and themselves one, but again, they played it so much they got lines and took mine over. At least with the Super Gameboy, I could play gameboy games without them taking my system
