have you looked in the video settings to see if "limit fps" is set to "auto"?
Yes limit fps is in auto , could be the rom file? Earlier I tried with a different rom but that just freezes at the game start

I dunno then :P I was having fun watching the car bouncing around like rubber balls in Gran Turismo 2 lol I think the speed boost may have some glitchy side-effects in some games. :P

Well then, I think I pushed everything I can, now its just time for people to try it out and maybe for this script to add some new stuff.
Right now all it will do is unlock the wii vc processor speed from the default 729mhz to a full 1.215ghz, possibly in the future more cafe2wii patches could be made though.
First, you will need a new version of nuspacker to allow packing with cafe2wii files:
https://github.com/FIX94/nuspacker/blob/master/NUSPacker.jar
Just replace the old one and thats all. Then, you will have to download OSv0 (0005001010004000) as well as OSv1 (0005001010004001) with something like JNUSTool.
Take the deint.txt and font.bin from the OSv0 code folder and put it into your destination code folder for a wii vc title. Then in the OSv1 code folder, put this:
https://github.com/FIX94/c2w_patcher/releases
Make sure to edit its starbuck_key.txt to the actual "wiiu starbuck ancast key". Then you should just have to run it, it'll output a c2p.img, put that into your destination code folder renamed to c2w.img together with the boot.bin and dmcu.d.hex.
After that, you can pack the title and install it.
Now after you have it installed, you cant just go ahead and use it, that'll just boot the normal cafe2wii without it unlocked. For this, I wrote a special IOSU patcher:
https://github.com/FIX94/sign_c2w_patcher/releases
All you have to do before launching the wii vc title is start this from the homebrew launcher, then the wii vc title you boot will be at the unlocked 1.215ghz.
To see this added speed in action, you can go launch something demanding like Not64 and WiiSX, though for the moment the probably most boring thing is this wii test app:
https://mega.nz/#!c9JAlY6a!jcFK-BefgJ808yTy4m5aepH-Q6rSunkJBKLLA-ktGfI
It will by default it will print you a clock of about 243mhz and a thread callback of about 95 times, if you have the extra speed it will sit at about 160 times though.

Can someone ELI5 or make a video tutorial for this? I feel like I'm just overlooking something and a step by step video or image guide would help out a lot

I've noticed that analog sticks on the gamepad and wii cc are not well calibrated in WiiSXR, for examplr in Parasite Eve you can't reach full press to run. The only way to play this game is with the d-pad and its robotic movement.

Hi @FIX94. Do you know the reason why sometimes the gamecube game just shows black screen? It works sometimes but I noticed that it occurs when I play another Wii U game or switch profiles. When I also turn off the console while playing a gamecube game, it shows black screen next time I boot it up.

The fix I found is going through vWii, Homebrew Channel and open Nintendont manually. After that it works again. Is there a log file I can check to know why it shows black screen?

I'm not having too much luck. I've been able to do GCN and Wii games fine, but the WiiSXR forwarder doesnt seem to be working for me. After it boots, it just black screens and thats it. I have WiiSXR in the apps folder, along with one on the root of the sd card with the proper files inside. Any idea where I could be going wrong?

Make sure the forwarder is installed on NAND.

Seeing how Fix94 recalibrated the sticks for Nintendont, makes sense that WiiSXR doesn't read Gamepad data from the sticks properly.
They might need to be readjusted in the code.

Same would go for Not64 if it comes along.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
