I asked ChatGPT for help - can you confirm is this is correct...

For Tico on Switch, the process is basically:

  1. Put the .wad somewhere Tico/Dolphin can access (SD card is fine).
  2. Open the Dolphin core in Tico.
  3. Go into the Dolphin/Wii tools or settings area and find the WAD installation option.
  4. Install the .wad.
  5. Exit Tico completely.
  6. Relaunch Dolphin/Tico.
  7. Start the Wii Menu inside Dolphin.
  8. The WiiWare game should appear as a channel.
Here Tico worked like an normal iso.
Dolphin too
just put wad on same iso folder that core or dolphin reads, and it runs.
If you want, i test a game that you want

I placed the castlevania rebirth.WAD file inside the TIco /roms / folder and Tico says it cant find any games.

I couldn't get tico to play any wads, I haven't tested Castlevania specifically, but I got a couple wads working with Dolphin.
Using Dophin which method did you use to play them if you don't mind me asking? Do they just work automatically by putting them inside a specific folder or is it more involved?

All my roms are in subfolders in this folder there, even because it's down most of them by tinfoil and run via retroarch and this folder is the default of retroarch. So I leave everything there and configure the tico to scan the subfolders.

After that, you need to go to the system and have it scanned again. I just did that, my friend.

In dolphin there are options to add several paths to the rom folders, in case I added the wii and gc folders separately, but they are inside the /roms folder.

I tried launching Castlevania Rebirth and I get this message "Could not access Wii system memory. Refer to the wii operations Manual for details." This is with default settings.

I did try nagas Dolphin standalone emulator and it does run it. It tries to maintain a steady 60 fps but some areas it drops to 43 fps.

Not quite , you should still have horizon oc . You should stop using sys-clk.

Horizon OC is much safer and it has better oc compatibility

Even For V1 switch users such as mine?
I'll be interested in trying it out.

BTW I thought Sys-CLK was considered safe eveb with max settings. Did that change recently?

Last edited by dragonz,
It would be great to be able to set up custom savestate hotkeys for each core. Doing savestates with the current ingame menu is slow and the button I press to savestate always ends up being registered ingame when I quit the menu, which can mess up a play session.
