i updated my switch cause my intensions is to only buy exclusives for the system, like i did with my wiiu.
its more collecting.

Nintendo is nowhere near as strict when compared to Sony in banning or even suing people in the scene
Always wondered why some scene hackers needed to make themselves so well known? For fame? They could release everything totally anonymously if they wanted to. Back in the NDS glory days, I personally dumped 3 game carts, which I offered to a scene group under a nickname, and they released all 3 on the scene, saying in the nfo I was the supplier. No risk taken, totally anonymous. Not gonna say which 3 games, though. :shy:

Interesting indeed!

Also, I wonder what the online switch community will be called Once it is ready to go. Oh, and is it true that Nintendo is going to shut down Miiverse on NOvember of this year? :O :O

Because getting credit and proving your #1 haxxor edgy pwning noobz is the point of publicly releasing it under your name. But the reason you anonymously do it is to protect yourself from legal troubles, because it has happened before

because Nintendo's console security has always bordered on meme territory, but most importantly, Nintendo is nowhere near as strict when compared to Sony in banning or even suing people in the scene

also because the switch will (supposedly) have another Pokemon game, and I stand by what I previously said, once that shit drops homebrew will explode

True enough, they don't even ban hacked consoles online so long as you don't cheat. I've played countless matches online with my spoofed console, no bans since I never cheated. If people are willing to cheat online, they deserve to be console banned.

I had no idea that some regions couldn't even play online, you'd have thought you'd see people here complaining about the inability to use it, especially for Splatoon 2

LMAO sorry what?! This specifically coming from the guy who calls everyone who dares to challenge him "kiddo". I don't really want to start something but I have to point out to you how hypocritical you are.

And, btw, I'm still not "banned" like you said I would be :)
Okay kiddo

Would you rather people get the PC version? Lol. Sorry, but I'm not too satisfied being limited to <10 games on 3.0.0.

There's nothing wrong with the PC version. It's the superior version if you don't care about handheld play. I realize many do but I don't play Switch games in handheld. So far the only game that I've tried that is tolerable in handheld mode is Fast RMX because it doesn't use the right thumb stick. I'm sure there are others that wouldn't be terribly uncomfortable to play, but fuck it. I can just fuck with my phone on the toilet.

If you're enjoying your updated Switch then cool. Frankly, I still think you sound kinda salty. You're saying very matter-of-factaly that we won't see homebrew for X years (with X being a number between 2+ and 4). You can't know that. The ReSwitched team can't know that. "No, probably not." != "No."

Not trying to crap more on the Switch, but clearly I'm not loving it. If I updated it would probably be collecting dust till October 27th anyways. I'm not trying to play Switch games that are on PC. That being said I bought "Lego City: Undercover" because I got a little caught up in the excitement of a new system. I might have to wait a bit to play some good 1st/2nd party games. I've got a huge back catalog of games to play. Besides, I've got a buddy with an updated Switch.

If you are on 3.0.1 you can still play online games without need to update 3.0.2.

Switch 3.0.0 is like 3DS 4.0.0.
It's not so difficult to understand:if you want to hack your Switch "soon" stay on this firmware.
We, fortunately, had found new entry points on higher firmwares (eg. 9.2) but 11.4 and 11.5 are still unhacked (for CFW installation, not HomeBrew). Maybe we'll find a way to install a CFW on 11.5, but what if not?
And, what if 3.0.1 is the 11.5 for the Switch?

We already know a k9 exploit exists, it's just being held until 3ds end of life

NRTBoot works on 11.4 and 11.5, with which you can install Luma CFW, not sure where you heard you can't install CFW on those versions.

NTRBoot is an exploit in the hardware itself, it can't be patched.

I still disagree with this. Switch is not like its predecessors. It has far more up to date hardware. Unless... you want to posibly hack it with a hardmod. Which nobody is confortable with (recall the dsi scene? no homebrew what so ever unless you downgrade via hardmod)

sure it does, but until Nintendo starts getting Sony-tier with their aggression against HB then there will always be devs willing to crack it open

Well, they pulled a Sony PSP moment last month with the unexpected 5.5.2 firmware on the Wii U as a fan service.

New hardware, and the fact that the security wasn't completely designed by nintendo. Part of the security is hardware based from nvidia. Standard users are saying "it will be like every other Nintendo console" but the devs who worked on both 3ds and switch all say that the switch is not at all like the 3ds in terms of security

So, it's going to be like the PS3, and the only good exploits will be on low firmware.
