I think GodMode9 will not work directly as an ntrboot payload because of a screen init thing (at least that's what I read). B9S has to be installed and GodMode9 booted as a Luma payload (holding Start on boot).
Ntrboothax launch a .firm no matter the program it is, on my side before installing B9S I made a backup nand with decrypt9, in case off.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

yep i got all of that on there right now right from the page were it all needs to go even have an extra 4gb card with the same files on it as well and it still does the same thing.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

now it is just turns off as soon as i hit the power button even with out anything in it.
if i take out the sd card it will power up but no screen just blue light and wifi light with sound

i'm fixing to reformat my sd card and redownload the files to see if that will fix it.

You're correct. The current binary release cannot be a "direct" payload. But its not a direct payload in this instance.

The ntrboot_flasher injects sd:/ntrboot/boot9strap_ntr.firm onto the card as the payload. When you boot ntrboothx, it's loading b9s which then launches sd:/boot.firm whatever that may be. (Safeb9sintaller, Godemode9, Luma; I think anything in firm format.)

There have been some recent commits to godmode9 though that will allow it as a direct payload. If you build the latest tree from source you'll get ntrboot/GodMode9_ntr.firm too. This can be a direct payload. You would have to rename it to sd:/ntrboot/boot9strap_ntr.firm though as the ntrboot_flasher is still hard coded to only inject that. In full disclosure, I have not tried this yet. I'm waiting for a DSTT card to come in the mail so I can flash it as a kind of recovery card.

i have a similar problem with my new 3ds. it it bricked because i flashed an old 3ds firmware in the old days where you have to downgrade manually to 9.2.
so may3ds have a blackscreen. ive tried to boot ntrboothax via acekard 2i and a r4i gold but it only turns off itself after releasing start+select+power+x buttons and the amr9.bin, arm11.bin and otp.bin is dumped to the boot9strap folder.
ive formatted my sd card, also used other sd cards, reflashed ntrboot to my flascard redownload and replaced the files on my sd card. safeb9sinstaller is placed as boot.firm at the roof of my 3ds micro sd card because i read gm9 doesnt work ....
i think it cant read the boot.firm but i dont have any more ideas what it can be

if you have arm9loaderhax installed why are you trying to hack itagain? simply restore your nand.bin to sysnand....
but my 3ds hasnt installed any hax because it get bricked before i can install any hax...
any other ideas what i can do?

I can not because i can not get it to boot if i hold select auto shut down if i hold start auto shut down the screens will not stay on it will auto shut down if i power it on with out holding anything i get a black screen with system menu sound and blue power light and wifi light.

if i hold the buttons to do the ntrboot r4 card it will auto shut down and from what i was told it did not matter if i did not have a nand chip on my board it would still boot it and it will not.

I just had this problem, the situation was a bit different but I got the same "black screen, blue light" thing with occasionally that error screen. Just like other people have said, it means you're missing the boot.firm file. Wait for the blue light to turn off but don't try to boot into the B9S installer. Instead, delete all that stuff and place the Luma boot.firm in the SD card root. Power your device back on.
(This doesn't mean you have Luma, you'll still need to install b9s, it simply means your 3ds can boot the screen properly.)

This is what solved my problem.

Edit: So any button you press makes the 3ds shut down/power off?

ive already tried different boot.firms theres no difference. but i think too that it cant read the boot.firm. formatting sd, redownloading and replacing files also makes no difference ( shuts down after releasing the buttons but arm9, arm11 and otp is dumped, i dont know if it matters but the files are dumped everytime so i think something is going on.....)

edit: if i dont hold any buttons it stays at blackscreen if i hold the buttons it shuts down. and i never got this error screen only leerpsp got it.
edit2: also tried the pc-less ntr-pack from another thread with the same result: turn off after releasing the buttons and dumped files in the boot9strap folder on the 3ds micro sd card.

any more ideas what can be the problem?

Alright, that was helpful. So what's happening in this video is that when you power in on with the SD card inserted, you briefly see the Luma3DS config screen (because SD:/luma/config.bin is either missing or old) then it powers off. When you take the SD card out, it tries to boot from Luma3DS on the NAND, which does have a config file and so it doesn't show the config screen and attempts to boot, but gets stuck on a black screen (something is bad in your NAND). Lastly, if you put the SD card in and hold Start while booting, it tries to load whatever is in your payloads folder, can't, and powers off.

Why the 3DS powers off when trying to show the config file, I'm not sure. Do you have this file: SD:/luma/config.bin? If so, try deleting it. Power your 3DS on normally without holding any buttons and see if the config screen comes up and stays up or if it powers off again.

deleting the config.bin did not do anything altho i do have the top screen unpluged at this time tho as a modder who does nandmods and stuff told me to been talking to him in a chat on discord i will plug it back in when i get up. but the bottom screen will not come on at the bottom with that file removed if that helps.
